D&D 5E 2014 rules on D&D Beyond

Has anything been said about the old version of the rules on DDB? I'm assuming that the old core manuals won't be available for purchase, but will they be treated as legacy content like some other manuals? That would seem, at least to me, reasonable, but the core manuals (especially the PHB) are strongly integrated in the interface. For example, the rules drop-down menu currently open the 2014 version of the classes. Will that interface access be gone?

If you look at their for sale page right now, they are listed as "2014 Player's Handbook" and so on, and the vital info shows that it has 9 "Species" now, not Races.

Probsvly the system will handle it with the Legacy functionality that currently applies to Volo's Guide and Tome of Foes.

It takes more work to delete it than to leave it.

So I imagine they will just add a (legacy) tag and leave it be.

But I haven't heard anything official.
I don't think they will pull it. Why insist that 2014 characters can be used on 2024 tables.

I however think that we generally need a better filter to hide legacy content and content you do not own.

I'll try to rephrase my main point, which I obviously failed to convey.

I'm not really worried about WotC removing the 2014 manuals. I mean, they could do that, but I really don't expect it.

I was also not talking about filtering sources, even though I fully agree that it is an area really could use a major upgrade.

I'm thinking about the integration of the rules with the main interface. Currently, from the drop-down menus, I access the rules menu and get immediate access to the 2014 classes. I'm wondering how will they handle that come September.

Most likely, the same way they've handled ancestry options from older books that have been updated in later books without being errata'd to match (such as the two versions of the Changeling from Eberron and MotM): Add the new version as it's own entry and leave the old version intact with a tag marking it as legacy content.

I'm a bit skeptical that they'll double the length of the class drop-down menu.
