D&D 5E 2022 WoTC Books?

If Spelljammer returns, my suspects is the Astral Sea will replace the old "Wildspace".

Astral Plane.

Astral Sea was 4e terminology; they returned to the idea of an Astral Plane in the 5e PHB/DMG.

Though functionally it seems to be identical to the more fleshed out concepts of the 4e Astral Sea, and I personally will continue to refer to it as an Astral Sea in my games.

Given that the did an April Fools prank on it, I would say they definitely do.

I'm reasonably certain that when they do Spelljammer (2022) it will focus on all the various campaign setting books as the "strange new worlds" you might travel to.

"Planescape" is basically Sigil - the setting, it's not really much about traveling at all.

Wasn't that prank made by the community and not WotC though?


WotC may know there is interest, but not enough to warrant a product. If the community wants it, they can make it on DM's Guild once both settings are open.

Planescape has plenty of information about traveling...via portals!

It is astral plane, but astral sea sounds more "romantic".

Maybe the crystal spheres are totally closed for safety reasons, and in the Wildspace is happening an alien apocalypse by fault of unwellcome visitors.

I wonder about why the vodoni empire has could to conquer complete solar system, but not yet our favorite crystal spheres, not even news of these attempts by the natives.

Could there be space zaratans (island-size turttles) in Spelljammers? And their skeletons used as raw material to craft spelljamming helms.

* DC could publish a D&D/Spelljammer version of "Legion of Superheroes". Or Warner could talk with Hasbro for an intercompany crossover. Or Star Trek+Spelljammer, for example a no-canon kid-friendly cartoon parody.

* Slavery is now a taboo in Paizo's Pathfinder. There was slavery trade in Spelljammer. I don't like this type of troubles.

* If Spelljammer is opened in the DM Guild, somebody will publish a ersatz+mash-up version of famous (sci-fi + space-opera) franchises.

* Rom the space knight could appear as an easter egg in some picture, but with a decent redesign.
