I don't think I've ever really liked an "official" D&D character sheet. Even back in 2E days I used to use character sheets from the Armory.
With it being the 50th anniversary, they ought to have a sheet that has a soft leather shoe for movement and a space for the character's will.
On the topic of printing out, I wish the beyond sheets had better formatted text in the class text areas and such - that can be such a pain to parse.I still have some of those (spoilered) character sheets in the basement from back in the day...
The big thing for those who use Beyond is that it prints out an official one for you. So having it easier to find the more used stuff on will be great.
That is exactly why I gently push any players of mine to consider using this version instead. I really love that it gives a space to write any sort of proficiency, and doesn't bog it down with text for all of the skills that are just identical to the base modifier.I really dislike grouping them by ability. It undermines the concept that a skill is a proficiency that can give a bonus to any relevant ability check.
So trueIt's an improvement, but there's top much focus on the attributes, instead of focusing the sheet by function. Saving throws and AC should be on their own "I'm getting attacked, what do I report?" section, class features/attacks should be grouped by action type in a separate combat page, etc.
