20th lvl Wizard needs spell suggestions

My main group has started up a secondary campaign, while we pause the main story for a while.

We show up, and the player who is now DM'ing says, "Make a 20th level character."

Two hours later, we're ready to play. ;)

All I knew in advance was that it was a Forgotten Realms game. So, I brought about 4 FR books with me (Campaign Setting, Player's Guide, Faiths and Pantheons, and one I can't recall), plus the PHB and DMG. The DM tells me that I have every Wizard spell in the PHB in my spellbook. He also tells me that I can pick 20 spells from any other source and add them to my spellbook.

So, any suggestions for a 20th level Wizard? He's a generalist, so no prohibited schools. He's good, so nothing Vile or that requires evil to cast. Other than that, I can pick from anything. I have almost every WotC 3e/3.5e book, plus some 3rd party stuff.

In this campaign, bad things are happening and we will be moving into Epic Levels as we fix the problems. You know, like two of the Chosen of Mystara are now dead. And we have to fix that.... So I think I will gravitate toward higher level spells, or at least spells that scale with caster level.

He has taken Spell Penetration and Greater Spell Penetration as feats to help with Spell Resistance (and it's already paid off). He also has Reactive Counterspell so he doesn't have to ready an action to counterspell (and that has pre-reqs of Improved Initiative and Improved Counterspell).

The other PCs are a Cleric, Fighter, and Barbarian; all are 20th level with no multi-classing or prestige classes. The DM told us that a Rogue would not be necessary. In the big battle, both the fighter and barbarian had been decapitated. To finish the fight, I had to cast Mordenkainen's Disjunction on the bad guy, so those two PCs lost about half their magic items. Fortunately, their favorite items made the save.

Suggestions for additional spells to take?

Firebrand - Gods I hate this spell, but there's no doubting its ultimate utility. It's 5th level and found in Magic of Faerun and... maybe the Player's Guide. Not too sure, I don't own the player's guide.
Black Blade of Disaster - Uggghh... a floating, sphere of annihilation style blade... It's 9th level and can be found in Magic of Faerun.

I'm still not sure how Black Blade of Disaster is good spell. Well, unless you have crit happy dice. But 2d12 per round (often 1 round, since the duration is Concentration) for a 9th level sucks the 85% of the time you don't roll crit.

Firebrand. We Rule 0 it to 6th level in our games. I still take.

Spellmaster. Book of Eldritch Might 2. This lets the caster shape the areas of all the spells he casts, increase the range, or delay them up to 3 rounds. So you can blast or Disjunction people without hitting your teammates.

Many of the Astromancy spells from When the Sky Falls are good. It requires a feat to use them though. But dropping meteors on people is fun.

Prorogate Death. BoEM 2. You refuse to die from damage while the spell is running.

Ilijam Fire. Relics and Rituals. Napalm+Fireball. Mmmm.

Greater Magic Flow enhancement. BoEM. Increase your spell DCs for a while.

Fire Orb/Gedlee's Electric Loop. Use these to daze/stun enemies.

Chain Contingency.

Osseus Eruptus from Arcane Strife. It's a 9th level spell that, barring a Fortitude save, forces the victim's skeleton to erupt from his body and serve the spell caster as an undead slave. If the victim is a high level fighter type, the skeleton is also wielding a Maggotblade - a particularly nasty undead weapon. Best part of it all, the victim stays alive (sans skeleton), sustained by magic.

For my money, nothing says "I hate you" like Osseus Eruptus.

Hmm. It's Necromancy [Evil]. Not sure if that fits all of your criteria.
