good Lord, yet another attack on CTU! If I was in charge of CTU, I'd make everyone park three miles away from the building and walk naked to the doors... as many times as the place has been infiltrated/blown up/gassed/whatever, I'd be paranoid as hell about security...

I hope that next episode they say that much of their equipment has been shielded, and that the network isn't gone in the other CTU offices, and that most data can be recovered since they were using Oracle which archived to servers in other locations every 5 minutes...

Well they probably won't, even if it's the smart thing to do.

Hehehe. Fun episode, but yes, realistic technology is not 24's forte. Well, realism in general is right out the window. What year is this taking place, anyway?

The show first aired in 2001. If we assume the first season started during the 2000 presidential election, David Palmer gets elected in 2000. Then there's very briefly President Prescott, for a few hours.

In 2004, President Keeler is elected. He gets replaced by Charles Logan (smarmy bastard), who himself is replaced by Hal Gardner.

In 2008, President Palmer gets elected. He gets replaced by President Daniels (played by Powers Boothe!).

In 2012, President Taylor gets elected. It's been at least a year or two since then, judging by Jack's grand daughter's age. So hey, maybe in 3 or 4 years we'll have super awesome aerial drones over New York, and an agency with complete schematics of all buildings and tunnels in the city. Somehow I doubt it, though.

CTU - New York... so advaaaaaanced.

Reading your summary above, I am starting to finally admit that 24 has jumped the shark. In insurmountable ways. :) (How many presidents in 12 years?!?)

It's a tasty morsel none-the-less.
