Seeing Nathan has the same condition twice... is that possible?

I know that you cannot get the ongoing damage from both at the same time, and when saving against ongoing damage you only make one save per type of damage ("untyped" also being one type in this context).

Not entirely sure how this interacts with conditions other than ongoing damage.

The point against ongoing of the same type not stacking is well taken. I re-read p.278 PHB and it's quite clear, Nathan can take a maximum of 5 points of damage from the combined powers. I edited the post.

But while the effects don't stack, it isn't clear that the first negate the others. The closest indication I get on the subject is:

PHB 278 said:
Overlapping Durations: If a target is affected by multiple powers that have the same effect but end at different times, the effect with the most time remaining applies.

Straightforward enough if you deal with a 'until the end of the attacker's next turn' and 'until the end of the encounter' type of duration.

But which will last longer between two 'save end' effects?

Or for that matter, between a 'save end' and a 'Until the end of the attacker's next turn' effect? In that case, 'save end' can be both shorter (a leader grants an early saving throw) or much longer (the d20 hates you) than 'Until the end of the attacker's next turn'...

It all depends on the result of the saving throws.

In the current situation I think it is correct to have two saves for the conccurent effects. If one save is failed and one succeeds, then the victim is still affected by the remaining one. That'll be the effect 'with the most time remaining'.

It takes a minor action to pull out a sunrod.

What kind of action is lighting it and dropping it on the floor?

Can I grab a sunrod, drop it, and then hit the puppy in one round?

Minor to draw and use, like a potion. In any case, I always imagined sunrod as reacting to the air as soon as they are drawn from their sheath (Might be a personal delusion...)

Dropping would be a free action. So yes, you can do what you suggested.

In the box for ongoing damage it also says, that you only save once per type of ongoing damage, I believe, which does imply that one save can end multiple overlapping conditions.

Anyways, just do it as you think it's right; just thought it was worth mentioning. :)

Worst round of rolls EVER!

I rolled an OA against myself and Crit, then rolled an attack against the guy who crit me and rolled a 1.

Also, the fighter missed.

CURSES!

@Velmont: If Nathan does not really need it, you might want to consider not using his Veteran's Armor daily power and let Leyra use it after this combat to get Beacon of Hope back for the next one (at least if, as I think, we get another Milestone after this, because Leyra has already used two daily magic item powers). :D

Is it just my imagination or does Invisible Castle have a definite preference for very low rolls? I cannot believe the number of '1's etc it has roilled for me.

There was a time some months ago that IC went down for about a month. Before that there had been murmurings on some sites about the number of high rolls it made. After it came back it seemed to have gone the other way.

So, is it just me?

I have definitely rolled more 20s on IC than 1s in the past two months. 1 of these was an attack roll vs. myself. Se my most recent post in the IC thread.

That said, I do feel my rolls tend toward less than 10 (in the 3-8 range mostly).

I chalked it up to bad roll wu-ju, not broken technology.
