@Velmont: If Nathan does not really need it, you might want to consider not using his Veteran's Armor daily power and let Leyra use it after this combat to get Beacon of Hope back for the next one (at least if, as I think, we get another Milestone after this, because Leyra has already used two daily magic item powers). :D

Err... I'd rather you didn't do that. No offense, but that's rather extreme in the D&D cheese department in my book. Imagine this was Jack Bauer trading his kevlar vest with Chloe O'Brien in order to get back inspiration...

They didn't have magic items with daily powers, I'm pretty sure about that.

But ok, if you say no, then it's no.

Just thought it would be useful, since we always are in short supply when it comes to healing. ;)

Dm3 hit you with his gloom fist. I forgot to edit the entire line; Barrion is Dazed + ongoing 5 (save ends both).

I also forgot to check if the fists recharge but I expect he won't survive this round.

This fight is obviously the toughest yet but XP wise it would be the lowest.

I knew the terrain would make it worse than XP alone would suggest, of course.

But there were three aggravating factor,
I think.

1 - The monks may be a little strong for their level. In terms of Defenses, HP and attack bonus they are spot on but special ability-wise I think they may have too much. They are fun to run, though.

2 - I bet that if everyone had done just like Leyra and rushed through the whirling blade machine, this fight would have been much easier. In pure risk benefit analysis, the HP saved weren't worth the actions lost by Barrion and Mirage. The machine only inflicted an average of 8.25 hp / round against an AC of 20 and I think you afforded it too much respect considering you both had more than 27 hp (the maximum damage).

3 - I can't believe Garrick spent so much time grabbed! At 75% odds of making a successful acrobatic check, he was the last PC I'd expect to struggle with this!

IMO, anyway.

I love D&D!

Heh. Leyra didn't attack the monk, since both Garrick and Nathan will still be able to deal with him, and they are melee and cannot get to the Shadow Hound.

But with those abysmal attack rolls, it wouldn't have mattered, either way. ;)

Ah ah! Barrion's genesis is unmasked; It's a Feanan, the character concept from Dragon Magazine. Heh, it's still pretty damn cool. I talked about that character at my gaming table.

Yes, I am now a subsrciber of DDI.

While Feanen did give me the idea, I heavily edited him because he's not built super well. The Swordmage addition rather than the Wizard multi-class makes him way more awesome. Being able to use my sword with my Int and later on taking some of the cool teleportation Swordmage powers is a BIG plus, as far as I am concerned.
