24 4e Style : Day 2

Nathan unleash an electric arc that hit only one raider. He then shift and try to attack both again with a force burst but only hit one again. He then decides to mark them both.

[SBLOCK=OOC]Electric Lash with Action Point vs. R1 and R2. Sword burst vs R1 and R2. (1d20+17=36, 1d20+17=22, 2d8+8=14, 1d20+14=15, 1d20+14=29, 1d6+8=13)

Raider 1: 14 litghning damage
Raider 2: 13 forc damage...

And I spread the joy. Now both are marked.

I have shift and the action point gives me +2 to all defence. So, I got AC 33 and 27 to all my other defence for now.[/SBLOCK]

[sblock=Kern]I didn't apply the rattling penalty to the poison because it was a function of the poison, not the assassin.

As a matter of fact, when this is over, you will score a sample of the poison that the drow is using and it does +14 vs Fortitude no matter who is using it. I don't think, if the situation was reversed and Kern was rattled, that you'd expect it would diminish the poison's potency against your enemy.[/sblock]

[sblock=OOC]I'll try to get to the next turn tonight or tomorrow night.[/sblock]

Nathan lashes left and right while minding his defense but the dragonborn redeem their earlier clumsiness and tears into the swordmage from all side, pushing him to the brink.

Sensing weakness and lacking a better target anyway, the Githyanki maintain his mental onslaught. If it hadn't been for Leyra's divine intercession on his behalf, he would already be dead.

[sblock]2 twin strikes (1d20+19+2=27, 2d6+5+1d6=16, 1d20+19+2=38, 2d6+5+1d6=13, 1d20+19+2=41, 2d6+5+1d6=17, 1d20+19+2=36, 2d6+5+1d6=9)

Vs AC 35, I think you forgot Dragon scale when wrote said 33.

3 hits, one critical (it's a flat +12 damage with the Katars); 51 damage

Guthyanki:
Vs Will 27 (1d20+16=29, 2d8+3=15)
[/sblock]

The remaining thug is shocked at seeing his friend cut down. He lashes out at Dagran and he finds an opening but the dwarf grin at him, barely feeling the blow. The Thug then truns and rushes upstair, unwilling to keep getting stabbed in the back by the little halfling. He manages to dodge Dagran as he tries to stop him and rushes upstair. He gazes in confusion at the gambling den but can't see Garrick even though he seemingly has nowhwere to hide.

[sblock]
vs AC 31 (1d20+20=31, 2d6+6=8) 8 points of damage, Unbreakable negates the blow

(I am not sure if you would want to use Unbreakable on 8 points; I figured yes since it's close enough to 9 and it is not impossible you won't get hit again in the fight (1 dead and 2 bloodied out of 6 BG.)

If you diagree, let me know, I'll edit and you HP will be 88)

OA
vs AC 29 (1d20+19=27, 2d6+12=19) miss

If you check the link, you'll see the actual result is to hit is 2 points lower and damage 4 points higher. It's cause I screwed up and initially treated it as a immediate interrupt + Potent challenge instead of a standard OA... It's easy to get mixed up between these two.

The thug moves up. As soon as Garrick has no more cover, his previous stealth check is voided... But! The chameleon power kicks in, giving him a chance to remain hidden with a new check:

Stealth vs Perception (1d20+18=31)

Of course, Garrick couldn't fail DC 19 but it was still worth doing because when the Thug comes up and still doesn't see Garrick, he makes an active check (minor action). Since his max would be 29, I won't roll it.

Garrick remains hidden until the end of his next turn; make it count because there is no available cover upstairs.
[/sblock]

The Sniper, losing hope but grimly accepting the looming defeat keeps bobbing and weaving, deftly reloading his hand crossbow, still hoping for a miracle but not getting it.

[sblock]
Vs Ac 28, Fortitude 24 (1d20+19=21, 1d6+5=10, 1d20+17=22) miss[/sblock]

[SBLOCK=OOC]What opponents can Leyra see from her current position? Especially wondering about the Streetfighter and the Raider inside the building. Thinking about using Solar Wrath, since there won't be many opportunities for it on this map, but if it is just one opponent or so, that would be a bit of a waste. I don't want to move, so I can get Nathan back up into a reasonable hit point range.[/SBLOCK]

[sblock=OOC] That's fine about popping unbreakable.

A couple of questions:
If I move to the square marked 13 am I adjacent to the mindslicer and both dragonborn?

Can still spend an action point or did I already spend one this combat? If so is this a milestone after this, so I will have one next combat?

Is the Mindslicer unharmed?[/sblock]

[sblock=Leyra]Well, from your square you have no Line of Effect to the Githyanki. Drawing lines from the bottom right corner of your square to the square of the Northernmost raider shows he has no cover from you. Doing the same to the one fighting from the doorway shows he has superior cover (-5). You can't draw an unobstructed line to most part of his sqaures beside the very top.[/sblock]

[sblock=Dagran]
On square 13 you would be able to attack without penalty bith raider. The Githyanki on the other hand is behind a window. You could attack him in melee with a -5 penalty (superior cover). With a ranged weapon there would be no penalty.[/sblock]

[SBLOCK=OOC]Yeah, the Gith is out of question for sure. I was thinking about the Streetfighter in the Barn. Can I get a line of effect on him (my bottom right corner to his top right corner) with superior cover (that one is out of question)?

Also, shouldn't the raider inside the building "only" have cover? I should be able to reach the top two squares of him, or is the top left one blocked, because the doorway is smaller than his square? That would certainly make some sense.

Either way, as long as I have a chance to hit a few of them, it's at least worth a shot, I guess. :)[/SBLOCK]

OK I am officially confused with this map.

1> Garrick is up the stairs yes? On his tile there is a label that says ‘roof’ - so is he on the roof? OR

Quote
“He gazes in confusion at the gambling den but can't see Garrick even though he seemingly has nowhere to hide.”

So gambling den or roof. I suppose the question is where do those stairs exit?

2> Quote

“The remaining thug is shocked at seeing his friend cut down. He lashes out at Dagran and he finds an opening but the dwarf grin at him, barely feeling the blow. The Thug then turns and rushes upstairs, unwilling to keep getting stabbed in the back by the little halfling. He manages to dodge Dagran as he tries to stop him and rushes upstairs. He gazes in confusion at the gambling den but can't see Garrick even though he seemingly has nowhere to hide.”

what halfling? Who is this thug? Is he fighting Dagran or Garrick?

3> Quote from Leyra
“I was thinking about the Streetfighter in the Barn. Can I get a line of effect on him (my bottom right corner to his top right corner) with superior cover (that one is out of question)?”

Is Leyra talking about the rogue next to Garrick? If Leyra is the icon next to Mirage how can she possibly see that rogue.

Sorry about this I must just be having too many senior moments at the moment

[sblock=Garrick]You are on the second floor. I didn't feel like making another token just for that, I felt that 'Roof' was good enough.

The 'little halfling' is you, obviously.

The 'Thug' is the 'Street Fighter'. He attacked Dagran (standard action) then rushed up the stairs to find you. If he had seen you he couldn't have attacked again but the idea was to negate the sneak attack. The chameleon power prevented that and Garrick is still hidden even without cover until the end of his turn.
[/sblock]

[sblock=Leyra]No LOE on the streetfighter, Sueprior cover for the second dragonborn is indeed because there really isn't much angle considering the frame of the door is not nearly five feet wide (more like 3).
