24 4e Style : Day 2

Mirage stays with Leyra and tries to remember anything of significance in the buildings chosen for the ambush. There must have been some reason the conspirators chose here rather than some other location in the city beyond the configuration of buildings.

ooc: as long as thats not an ultra long shot choice of skill use then its a success. Otherwise I'm off by one.

[sblock]Nathan : vs DC 21, success

Dagran : vs DC 21, success

Thanee : vs DC 26, failure (the real meeting is not that close to your immediate surrounding, Streetwise was a better choice but it was not a long shot either)

Kern: vs DC 21 failure

Garrick : vs DC 31 failure

Mirage : vs DC 31 failure

Same skill with different justification could have lowered the last 2. But hey, this isn't a detective game. It just means there are still some surprises in store.[/sblock]

-''All right, enough.'' the reptilian fiend says as he spits some blood. ''We were hired to clean house, kill actors in this mess. Of course, we ain't stupid. If we are hired to cut loose ends, are we looking at a knife in the back somewhere down the road? So yeah, I can show you where the mystery man who hired us lairs. The drow you killed tailed him successfully after a meet...''

This had the ring of truth to Dagran. As the other investigators come back empty handed, Nathan and Dagran get them up to speed and they all rush to the indicated house, hoping the culprits are still there.

[sblock]Shouldn't be too long before next fight. I picked a map, still indoor but a lot more open room. I still need to build and encounter to possibly kill you all while giving a fair chance...[/sblock]

-''Good news guys, I checked the location the mook gave you against our files and we have up to date plans of the location you are about to it.'' says Control in a cheery voice.

-''I am going to send you mental images of the location, don't panick if it feels a little weird, just clear your mind and memorize the info I am sending you.''

[Sblock]yep, that's an ambitious map! Not sure how much fight will spread beyond street level, but the maps are there.

I still need to add you back on each of these maps since they are all considered different games.

I'll soon post something about your approach but basically this is a taverm near the harbor on a corner of a street. The East side of street level is a busy street, the south is a beach. You will see a some vigils armed with crossbow on the roof as you approach. The roof is 6 square high.

PS : Kern retrieved one shot of poison from from the assasin he killed on the roof. Minor to apply on a blade, next hit has a secondary attack +14 vs Fortitude, -2 to hit (Save ends), first failed save weakens the target, second and he falls unconscious.

This is the final fight so whatever ressources you have, throw them left and right.

I am putting the the final touch on opposition line-up today.

[SBLOCK=OOC]Yeah, didn't expect a DC of 21... but with +19 chances were decent enough to beat a higher DC... doesn't always work out. ;)

BTW, how many Milestones do we have by now? 1 or 2?[/SBLOCK]

[sblock]1 milestone. I counted only the fights, none of the challenge; the skill challenge never posed a threat in and of themselves (such as the threat of losing healing surge from a previous running challenge). This 4th fight would generate the 2nd milestone.

But this fight might be so epic that I may use my patented 'adrenaline surge' (A key point in the fight allows to recuperate some of the ressources associated with a rest i.e. Two encounter powers, one action points etc.)

Garrick's stats as I understand: Underlined powers have been used. Any comments gratefully received.

[sblock]So now there are some bad guys on the map. The archers are on the roof, the guards are on the street level. The guy on the stairs in the third floor map is the same as the guy in the corresponding position on the street level map.

Time to place your guys on the map.
[/sblock]

[sblock=Terrain Notes]
The stairs on the east are fairly steep; they count as difficult terrain. Falling prone on them means you actually fall to street level

Looking through the windows yields only blurry shape. They are dirty and not exactly the quind of quality glass you see in modern home. You'd have to break them to see clearly through them. It'd be a move action. It requires a reasonably long melee weapon or wearing an heavy armor otherwise you cut yourself a bit and take 2d4 damage.

Each story is 2 square high so from street levels the archer are always at least 6 square high. We don't count diagonals so basically just use the greater range between 6 and the number of squares you are from their position relative to ground level.

Archers
Minion
Perception : 24
HP 1; a missed attack never damages a minion.
AC 25; Fortitude 24, Reflex 26, Will 24
Speed 6
Dagger (Standard, at-will) Weapon
+18 vs Armor Class; 7 damage.
Longbow (Standard, at-will) Weapon
Ranged 20/40; +20 vs Armor Class; 8 damage.

Guard
Perception 22
HP 1; a missed attack never damages a minion.
AC 30; Fortitude 26, Reflex 28, Will 24
Glaive (Standard, at-will) Weapon
+22 vs Armor Class; 7 damage.

I think maybe we should try to work closer together here rather than spread out.

Question: where Dagran is - can the archer on the roof see that square?

I still have problems with the mapping prog. I have put in my icon however. Can you put it somewhere to the west of Dag.

Seems to me we try to take that archer out then burst through the doors immediately to our north.

Any other plans?
