2e: Playing a Thief/Mage

Are talking about making a 2nd edition character? By the hit points I would guess so.

Since you can't customize much other then stats and skill allotment, I would place the stats in the following order:

Dex
Int
Str
Con
Chr
Wis

And then I would likely max out Move Silently and Hide in Shadows so you can fling spells from the Shadows.

Take spells that accent your thief abilities, such as Knock, ect.

Hope that helps

Actually my stats are pretty good considering it's a Dragonlance campaign... all the characters have very inflated stats because it can be quite dangerous and our GM wants it to be as such.

Str: 9
Dex: 18
Con : 10
Int: 15
Wis: 13
Cha: 16

Thanks for the suggestions

Hey, here's a roleplaying tip straight from my son, who had an elven mage/thief in our 2E campaign...no matter what the circumstances, just charge into battle and attack with your longsword. Forget about thieving skills. Forget about spells. Just worry about swinging that longsword.

Seriously, I never understood that character. I figured he only took thief levels to justify stealing from the party.

His paladin was the same way, too. Heh heh heh. Crazy kid.
