2nd ed kit conversion ("Blade")

This is my first time attempting such a thing, but one of my players wants to play a character based on the "Blade" kit from the 2nd ed Complete Bard Handbook. How do I go about this? Do I make it a prestige class? Some of the abilities look pretty tasty. I have a rough write-up in progress that allows a Bard to start taking Blade levels at 3rd level.

What do you recommend?

A kit does indead become a PrC.

Map the WP to Feats and the NWP to Skills with other things being relegated to the class abilities status.

It's based on the same idea you had, conversion of the 2E Blade kit to a 3E Prestige Class.
