2nd Ed Psionic to RC rules

After playing a small game session yesterday with the Rules Cyclopedia – I am hooked on how simple and fluid the game is and leans heavy on the DM to make choices.

Due to the latter, I think I am going to start and run a small RC rule based game; however, I usually throw in a good number of eastern based characters that have psionic – not to mention some Dark Sun creatures.

Has anyone: seen, read or have a method of converting the 2nd Edition Psionic rules to: BECMI or RC rules?

Thanks.

I haven't actually used 2e psionics, but from what I understand its a completely new magic system. So you should be able to import the whole thing without any issue. Most things from AD&D can be used in becmi easily. Only big differences come with proficiencies and race as class.

The 2nd edition rules are not cumbersome, but complex. Due to the latter, they really do not fit the D&D method of “simple and streamlined”. For starters (brief overview), 2E Psionic characters have psionic points that are composed of values derived from their attribute scores. The player needs to pay attention to their psionic points, since all psionic abilities require a number of psionic points to activate.

The method of 2E Psionic mechanics does not fit with the D&D mechanics and philosophy of gaming. Due the latter, I am trying to bring the Psionic PC to D&D rules – where the player character does not have to track Psionic strength points. However, one option is to limit the ability of Psionic to a number of times per day; however, if I limit the usage of Psionic powers to a predetermined value – I feel the Psionic would take away from the flexibility of the Psionic class.
