3/14 Rule of Three

I will place large sums of money on them NOT hitting this target. DDi has never, ever, EVER met a single target, even one as imprecise as "Fall".

Yeah, I was wondering if "by the fall" is WotC padding their bets with lots of extra time.

Regardless, the fact that a year later we might be where we were previously is... ugh.

What about the Monster Builder? Pre-MMIII it was stable and accurate then the MMIII update rather ruined things. Now it's effectively not available for a few months while they try and produce an online version which is, strangely enough, way behind schedule.

SRSLY. Was this whole "one year of half value!" approach planned when they killed the offline tools?

At the time of the MMIII update we now know they were also working on the online tools, planned to replace the offline tools. Be handy for them if those old tools didn't work forcing folks to use the online tools. I'm sure it is just a coincidence.

I can't remember, but is the original magic item parcel system described in the DM's kit (I do not have it with me just yet)?

Although the original system isn't in the DM's kit, all you have to ignore of the new system is the d20 roll for magic items determining whether the item is common, uncommon or rare; just keep the level and it all works fine.

Cheers!

It's more fun to complain and snark. Enough with your reasonable solutions!

I wouldn't be so excited about the house rules bit.

WotC said:
We plan to progressively increase the capabilities and the feature set of the Online Character Builder to include house rules. This will include both the creation of custom items and the ability to add extra feats, powers, and skill training to a character. The idea is to have these capabilities in the Character Builder before the fall.

"These capabilities," meaning, presumably, extra feats, extra powers, and extra skill training.

That doesn't let you customize flavor text.

That doesn't let you change keywords or damage types or ability score keys.

That doesn't let you add or change races, classes, powers, skills, rituals, or anything else.

You can give everyone Expertise.

You can let your Essentials Fighter take an extra Encounter power.

You can give everyone a bonus Perception skill.

Which isn't nothing.

And it's implied that more stuff will be coming.

But this isn't big time house ruling. It's simple additive stuff. Great. But not exactly everything that people do with house rules.

He also didn't specify he meant the season.

By "the fall" he could mean "of civilization" or "the third roman empire of 2142" or "the leaning tower of piza" or any number of things.
My money is on that last one - "The Fall of the Leaning Tower of Paizo", was it? ;)

Good of them to own up and tell everyone to go back to more or less using the old treasure parcels again.
More importantly, they'll want to go back to daily item limits.

You start off being able to use /one/ of your magic item dailies per day. Each milestone lets you use an additional item that day.

At paragon, you start off able to use two; at Epic, three.
