[3.5] Bard Spell list Changes Summary

No need for Mage Armor any more, just wear a Chain Shirt.

Touche :)

but they took out tasha hidious laughter?
Even better, they put it at first level. Cheers!

I'm glad that the sixth level spell Control Weather is gone. Could never figure how to roleplay casting that spell. (Do a raindance? )

I'm sad that levitate is gone now... can't think of an excuse to leave it in, but it was such a nice spell... and Bards don't have fly.

Mage armor has more style. :p

hey, the list misses one of the more interesting additions - Daze Monster! I wanna know about that one. Sounds like a very nice little addition, assuming it makes dazing useful past 4th level...

Wonder if the bard with get spell swapping as well as the sorc... if not, I'll likely house rule it, esp if you learn an upgraded version of a spell you already have...

It is odd to me that the bard gets most Cure spells, but not Cure Minor Wounds. Just wonder what the reasoning could be.

Very handy spell, especially at low level, at the least you can save people who are at negative HP.

Yup, he does, but later than the sorc. Starts from level 5 and every 3 levels after that.

well, the bard gets less spells overall, and later, so I'm gonna guess that it evens out in terms of utility.

They do, just at a lesser rate. I think you start at 5th level and then once every 3, but don't quote me on that, just the big thread of changes to find out.

Probably because they don't officially get 2nd level spells until 5th (4th is 0 spells+Cha) and they get a new spell level every 3 levels after that (8th - 3rd, 11th - 4th, etc.). Swapped out spells must be 2 levels lower than the highest castable.

Basically the same rule as Sorcerors applied to a class with a slower spell progression.

I don't like the splitting up of emotion but it fits the (IMO dumb) trend of splitting spells. Transmute rock to mud, transmute mud to rock, stone to flesh, flesh to stone. It fits the already dumb system better I suppose.
