Are you sure about the spell list? It looks really weird.

Also, I think assassins will be spontaneous casters so is that spells per day or spells known?

Trap sense ability gained at 3rd level, up to +6 at 18th level

Spell mastery is now only described in the Feats section: prereq: wiz 1

Yup, I copied the text from the book. Assassins do cast spells as sorcerers and bards, but using their Int.

The assassin can cast more spells in 3.5 then in 3.0

That's unfortunate. The prereq should be something like "prepares spells from a spellbook", making it more generic. That would, for example, allow wu-jen to use the feat (which they technically can't with that prereq).

They probably didn't want to make it more generic. As I recall it was a special feature of the wizard class, and other spellbook dependant characters in 3.0 (umm...the assassin?) couldn't get it. (checks PHB: Yep, 'a wizard, and only a wizard...')

What you're suggesting is sort of like removing the '4th level fighter' requirement for Weapon Specialization and replacing it with 'BAB +4'.

While a lot of the 3.5DMG prestige classes are re-writes of existing ones or minor tweaking what about?

Horizon Walker:

Thaumaturgist:

Any details on those PrC or direction to where they posted something already would fine.

One last question I saw this on another thread does a cleric gain knowledge planar?

Thanks .. Speaks

What is this "Aura of Good" that paladins get?

Just a guess, but its probably the reverse of the Blackguard's Aura of Evil.

Aura of Evil (Ex): The power of a blackguard's aura of evil (see the detect evil spell) is equal to his class level plus his cleric level, if any.

Well, there's always the Revision Spotlight, which says:

*Horizon Walker: The horizon walker is an unceasing traveler to the universe's most dangerous places. As her journeys take her from place to place, she adapts to become one with her environment. In time, she develops a mystic connection with the ground beneath her. But she is by no means tied to a particular place; her restless feet are ever leading her toward the horizon, where new adventures await.

and

*Thaumaturgist: The thaumaturgist reaches out with divine power to other planes of existence, calling creatures there to do his bidding. Evil thaumaturgists conspire with demons and devils to gain power on the Material Plane, while good thaumaturgists send powerful angels or eladrins on holy quests.

There hasn't been much else released. I read somewhere that the Horizon Walker chose favored terrains, in which they become more powerful, but I don't know how accurate that is.
