D&D 3E/3.5 [3.5] countering Ray of Enfeeblement

The example in the feat says cure spells heal 1.5 of normal.

Not sure what you're reading. The example in my 3.5 PHB uses a Magic Missile, and says each missile rolls 1d4+1 and multiplies the result by 1.5. In other words, Pax is right.

From the 3.5 PHB

An empowered spell deals half again as much damage as normal, cures half again as many hit points, affect half again as many targets, and so forth, as appropriate.

I disagree. Caster level is a variable.

Yeah, but it it's not random. You don't roll caster level, it's set at the time you prepare the spell.

If you don't roll dice for it, it can't be empowered.

I dare say that if your strength was reduced such that you were carrying more than your lift off ground limit, then you would be rendered unable to move until you divested yourself of it.

As for being unable to cast... unlikely unless the encumbrance is from armour.
