3.5 D&D boxed set!

First Post
"This box set contains all the components needed to play a D&D game right out of the box, including pre-painted miniatures, a battle grid, dice, and three rules booklets based on the three D&D core rulebooks. There are characters ready for play, or players can use the simplified creation rules to craft a unique new character. Since this product is adapted from the full-blown game, it carries many of the unique elements of D&D roleplaying, including character advancement and multiple levels of play.
This set is to be the first to include the new pre-painted miniatures and is to retail for $19.99. Due for release in October 2003."

So, is this the long-awaited 3E Lite version of the game? Does the boxed set provide rules to advance characters all the way to 20th level?

We will have to wait and see. I have been one of the posters across messageboards asking for a rules-light D&D. More likely, it may just be intended as a replacement version of the D&D Adventure Game box set that game out when 3E came out. Though it sounds nicer than that one.

I thought the other Dungeons & Dragons Adventure Game boxed set is 3e Lite. Or is that a Light Lite?
