D&D 3E/3.5 3.5 feats for dragons

How does one determine the number of feats that a dragon gets at each age? Please be specific.

Look at the number of Hit Dice the dragon has. It gets one feat for the first HD, one feat for the third, and one feat for every three HD thereafter.
I hope that's specific enough. (?)

At least I don't know why dragons should be any different in that regard.

Same as you would any other. 3 HD = 1 feat. Thus a 21 HD dragon has 8 feats.
