3.5 Greyhawk - Against the Slavers (closed)

I will write my PC in the weekend and post it next monday.
Meanwhile some further questions.

1- is it ok for you if I take average Hp/level instead of rolling? Sor6 would have 4+5x2.5=16.5 rounded to 16 (+6 times the Con bonus). I know you trust our rolls, but I don't trust myself.

2- how often are we required to post? I have no problems during weekdays, although I am in Europe so I am effectively a few hours in the future, but I have no web access during the weekend

3- what do you mean "average starting gold"? for a 1st level PC or for a 6th level NPC? where can I find the exact value in the SRD?

4- is it fine to equip the PC with any magic item in the DMG or do you want to rule something out?

Snipehunt, you said average starting gold. Not sure if you mean average for 1st level or average for 6th level. Could you clarify, or even better, could you just tell me how much gold I have to spend for Sarloss?

Toric

Sure, good point. Average for a 6th level PC - IDHMBIFOM, or I'd just tell you.

OK. I'm bagging my ran/brb/ftr. I can't really replicate my old PC w/a 32 pt buy. At this point I"m leaning towards playing a Paladin.

Snipehunt, can you tell us what year this will be run in? That will enable me to work my background & personality up more.

Thanks.

Well, what was the concept? I'm open to tweaks, as long as they aren't unbalancing.

Year. Erm. I hadn't really thought about it. Let's say, 591/592 maybe? Uprisings in the Hold of the Sea Princes, Keoland, etc. squabbling w/ the Brotherhood, etc. Is that good enough?

I'm not really up on Greyhawk historyy - I haven't read the gazetteer for years.

1. If you don't roll, avg. is fine.

2. I can't post much weekends myself. During the week, I tend to be pretty active, and would like at least one DM post a day, sometimes more if PC actions point that way. I try to wait to let everybody have a chance to post, but I don't like to stop the show - I'll NPC a PC if I feel like enough time has passed (I have at times been called a hyperactive espresso monkey w/ ADD). I use revisionist history if somebody gets screwed, though.

3. Avg = DMG starting gold for 6th level PC's.

4. Any magic item, but subject to approval. I don't think you guys have enough gold to screw things too much - but yaneverknow.

And I do trust all the players - but thanks for re-rolling, Uriel (although I'll never complain about the hp of a wizard or sorcerer). I'd just like to avoid having to start distrusting players.

OK. My old PC, Sargon, whom I created when I was about 10 years old and played up through high school had ridiculouly high ability scores (as PCs created by 10 yr olds are wont to have). I don't feel I could get the feel of him again properly w/ the following minimum characterstics:
S 18 D 14 C 14 I 12 W 12 Ch 12, which comes to 37 points (if you assume he started w/a 17 str & increased it at 4th level). If you're willing to give me this in return for, say, 200 starting gold, or (less appealing) a +1 ECL or something, I'd still like to play him. Otherwise, I'm happy playing someone else. Maybe a LE monk. Would you have an issue w/an evil PC, one who was none-the-less, very motivated to pursue the adventure?

Maddmic's unnamed PC

Looks fine so far, I've cleared up teh muddy picture re gold, etc. so you can fill in th rest. One request - for druids, I'd appreciate it if you can post a stat bloc of your PC as the common animals you'll change to for combat - bear or whatever. It makes it easier for me to figure out what the PC can and can't do. Thanks :)

My Rogue, Sarloss, was posted a few posts back. He is missing equipment and background, which I will have up shortly. Just wanted to make sure you saw him, Snipehunt.

According to the DMG, it's 13,000GP for 6th Level, just for those who couldn't find it.
The new 3.5 DMG is a bit strange to navigate, regarding the info for PCs above 1st Level. Just a bit less obvious than 3.0
pg 135 of the 3.5 DMG for anyone not sure.

Description/History:

Fealnne carries the aura of a proud and noble warrior, and his violet eyes peer intently through a mop of pale blonde hair. He wears dull greens and browns, suiting to his occupation. Fealnne's hawk companion, Tyrion, isn't spectacular in appearance, not unlike Fealnne, thought they work well together have done so for a respectable amount of time. His work mostly entails protecting nature from various threats, the most notable threat being nearby giants, and the occasional minor evil being they may summon up to aid them.

His bow originally was part of a dire bear's rib cage, his druid uncle's animal companion in fact. Both were well respected and considerably powerful. On one occasion though, when Fealnne was too young to fight, the giants from the mountains nearby made a particularly hard push to take the forest, rallying every sword arm with similar interests in the region. Reigann, Fealnne's uncle, and Goliath, Reigann's massive (intelligent) dire bear companion led the defense against the coming horde. The battle waged on for days, and when an opporunity presented itself, Reigann and Goliath led a counter-offensive and drove a wedge through the heart of the horde's lines, this was the turning point in the conflict, and though they both died in battle during this effort, the horde was routed and oblitterated, thus explaining the scarceness of giants in the region now, but their fervant efforts to destroy the forest. The original reasons for their doing this has been forgotten, they simply desire vengeance now.

Goliath's dying wish was that something useful be made of his remains, thus a number of weapons and suits of armour were created from his bones and hide. Fealnne received a inely made, but notably unenchanted bow, intricately carved with images of Reigann and Goliath in their finest hour. During a routine patrol of the forest perimeter though, Fealnne and a group of other guardians sighted a giant scouting party and combat ensued. At one point the leader of the scouting group was standing over an incapacitated comrade of Fealnne's, about to land a finishing blow. Fealnne let an arrow loose at the giant, and as it struck the giant in the throat a massive and unearthly roar, disturbingly similar to Goliath's roar of triuph, rung through the terrain. The giants' leader was thrown back by the force of the noise, bleeding profusely from his ears and neck, and he died moments later. The remaining giants fled for their lives at this point. He arrived back home a hero, and with a bow that now carried inexplicable enchantments.

That was some time ago and he is now assigned to the task of locating and rescuing the members of a patrol who went missing, some bodies were found but not all, and leads suggest the survivers were sold to a slave market run by the Sea Princes.
