When randomly generating armor or weapons, how is the size determined (whether M or S, or other sizes for that matter)?

Well, that' silly. What, there's (effectively) no such THING as magical armor for Large creatures? What about magical BARDING ... ? No paladin ever gets +1 (or better) barding for his or her mount?
