[3.5 - OOC] Answering the Call

The tables and chairs are in the common room. We are in the middle of a hallway, by the front door. I would guess it would take at least 3-4 rounds minimum to get to the common room and drag tables and chairs back to where we are.

Check on the tables and chairs being upstairs.

BTW, I'm getting things updated. Life keeps sucking the joy from life. Last night, I remedied my joylessness with a huge plate of Polish food and a liter of ice cold beer. Unfortunately, that left me with no energy with which to update my games.

:D

The game is updated. The party faces their toughest fight yet as two apes and four more hobgoblins have rushed onto the scene ready to do battle.

On another note, it doesn't seem as if Kyl's player is returning. I'll get to work on finding a replacement, either to run Kyl or to bring in a new PC to be linked up with the party back at Borderland Keep.

It sure seems like it is going to be a tough one. Stupid apes. Actually, I'm really a bit concerned, because if I recall my monsters, apes can be damn tough for 2nd level PCs.

Sounds like a fine plan.

.....I killed a 1st-level lizardman Dragon Shaman and a 1st-level half-dragon elven ranger with a single Ape in my Sunday night game, many months ago. Technically, I left them alive, beaten into negative HP, before the ape (not hungry, just territorial) left, and the DS's player brought in his cleric alt to heal the two of them so the campaign wouldn't end midway between the 1st and 2nd adventures.....

.............

....................................

................................................We might be screwed. Then again, we do have 2 fragile extras along. Maybe we will find some way for Kyl and Menno to take some of the beating for us after dishing out whatever damage they can? .........without Lars sacrificing himself first?

.........Yeah, we might be screwed. :heh:

With that said, this is a great opportunity for Mark to "remove" Kyl from the party, having him rush past Lars to engage the ape...then we'd just have to recruit a new rogue, once/if we make it back to the keep.

We actually started this fight better than I expected, taking out an ape and a hobgoblin right away. But the other ape put that hard beat down on Lars. So I am again quite concerned about our survival.

Meno goes down in one such attack and I wouldn't call myself fragile extra. Menno is in good hands now.

LOL. I don't think he intended any offense...Menno is just on this third (or is it fourth) player.

But with that said, your rebuild of Menno has definitely moved him out of the "fragile extra" category and put him in the "solid hitter" category. :)

I didn't take it as offense either meant or otherwise, I should have put some smilies into that post.

As for heavy hitter, Menno was little bit hastily assembled (which is proved by his equipment which is exact duplicate of sample sorcerer in PHB) and not well thought out. Allowing reserve feats is all MCs doing.

My Sunday game started with just the two players; the half-dragon ranger and the lizardman dragon shaman. Thus, compared to that group, this one has two extras; the rogue and the sorcerer, and they're both comparatively fragile. If one assault from the ape would take Menno down......then yeah, he's fragile. That's all.

Don't fret overmuch. The fight is likely going to be a rough one, but the apes aren't quite your normal d20 apes. They're toned down a bit.

Of course, there is that hobgoblin cleric....
