[3.5 - OOC] Answering the Call

Sorry for the non-posting (again). As you may have read elsewhere, I teach emotionally-disturbed teenagers who live in a residential treatment center but attend classes in an on-site school. Due to an escalation of behaviors, some potentially dangerous, we went to shut down, which means the students lost the privilege of leaving the RTC during the school day. This necessitated me completely retooling my lesson plans. Then, as some students regained their privileges while others didn't, lesson plans continued to be disrupted almost on a daily basis. On top of all this, my instructional assistant hurt her back and was out most of the week. Finally, as if this weren't enough, my wife Katrina contracted a staph infection on her leg that rapidly turned into a huge boil that regularly vented blood by the tablespoonful.

Good times, eh?

I've certainly not given up on this game or you players. I hope the feeling is mutual. Things will be updated today.

no worries. RL comes first. Good wishes to your wife.

eh, well, you too with your teenage problems :D

As Neurotic says, RL always comes first. Best wishes to your wife, and I hope things calm down for you as well. I really appreciate the post to let us know what is going on.

It is good to know that this particular fight is almost over. There were a couple moments there that I thought we were all going to die.

I wasn't worried. :)

Say, what happened to BigEye? Weren't we supposed to be picking up a scout or something?

BTW, my wife Katrina went to the doctor for a follow-up today. The culture came back. Her staph got upgraded to genuine MRSA. Good thing that (1) I got her to the doctor early and (2) that her doctor know what he's doing. MRSA is nothing to be lax about.

Yeah, those superbugs can be a pain. If it's open wound, ask your doctor if she may wash it in hypermangan (it's actualy mangan perchlorate or some such highly oxidative reagent - it kills anything living it touches - the skin may become very pale around the area it's used on, but it's generaly harmless and skin regenerates in few days.) It won't help if the bug gets in the blood, but it's very strong and it kills with oxygen so there is no resistance).

(My wife got some after birth, the clinic had some renovations so she gave birth in improvised delivery room :( - hypermangan was how it was dealt with.
