Yea, after looking over the spell list, it looks like a really slippery kind of character, and you seem very enthused by it. It looks like you're aiming for a character who works his way through stealth/trickery.

Yeah, a bit of a lovable rogue pretty much the complete opposite of myself in real life. :heh: My main concern is that I'm playing an Aasimar Beguiler in Cage-Rattler's Planescape games here and I don't want to end up playing the same character in two games at the same time. So I'm going to have to think of some ways to make him different. The amnesia will definitelly help. My other guy knows quite allot of people, so having a character with no knowledge of the planes and sigil is definitelly different. Well, I'm thinking up all these things, and it's still up to random chance whether or not I'll actually get to do any of them. Don't want to get too involved or it'll be a real let down if I don't get in.

Hm, kind of off topic, but I was just thinking. I've seen games looking for four players and up and games looking for one player... I think I'm even in a game with three players right now, but I've never seen a game with two... Odd that.

Yea, by no means should you be making the character- you'll put me on a real guilt trip if you did, and (by roll) I chose someone else...

...that goes for everyone.

Wouldn't dream of it. :)

Warlocks are also very capable in noncombat, I should add. The invocation that gives them +6 to several social skills, and their typically high charismas, really help.

Hee. It's amusing to me how we're starting to become advocates of our Chosen Class though. :)

Really, any class can do just fine in a solo game, as long as they know their role and stick to it. I just like warlocks (and admittedly, I like Beguilers too :)), because they can so easily be customized to suit most roles.

I don't know much about warlocks except that they can shoot out weird energy bolts as a special ability, or something, but I totally agree with you about Beguilers! :D

Out of curiosity, what race were you considering for the Beguiler? (still sticking with Aasimaar, but perhaps with a totally different personality, or changing the race altogether?)

Yeah, that's something I was considering. I've only played an Aasimar in the two Planescape games I've been in. I'd probably be either that, or a prime race, since considering the amnesia, it could be interesting to find out how I got there. Of course an Aasimar could also be from the prime so... I dunno. I almost always play good characters as well. I've actually never played an evil character, because I've never thought it would be much fun. I can't picture a group of evil characters surviving for long without killing each other. A lone character could possibly work... Oh look at that, I started talking about alignment instead of race. :heh:

So yeah, I basically haven't given much thought to race. Aside from Aasimar(maybe with a non-good alignment), maybe human, since they get the extra feat and skill point. It could add to the number of 'I didn't know I could do that' moments.

Sorry to butt in (hi Again Dire Lemming ;) ), but I can't say that the idea of playing a solo Planescape game doesn't appeal to me immensely, so I'd welcome an equal chance at the roll of that die. I've had the opportunity to play a solo (Star Wars) game on these boards once before, and I enjoyed it immensely. I'm not really certain what type of character I'd want to play, but this being Planescape, a solo game and starting off with a blank (amnesiac) slate, I'd be sorely tempted to try something truly different and unique; something that challenges my role-playing muscles. My first thought is to play something that doesn't only not remember who it is, but even what it is. I'd like to work with the DM to develop something he'd find equally interesting to run, so his feedback would be welcome.

Off the top of my head, I could imagine playing:

An undead PC from Savage Species; a memory-less petioner who awakens in Sigil (perhaps in the mortuary or even as a bodyless skull in the Master of Bone's possession) and tries to reassemble his old identity while trying to similarly reassemble his scattered body.

A sentient golem awakening moments after the mysterious death of his creator is left to build an identity all while trying to track down the murderer and uncover his own intended purpose.

Or how about a rogue-modron who suddenly awakens to his individuality in Gear Run and has to figure out how to live away from his people, in a different shape, in an alien city while trying to figure out what chaotic influence forever doomed him?

Or how about a character who's identity and body is constantly in flux; like a rogue cranium rat collective? We, as a group, could scurry through the hidden areas of Sigil, endeavouring to swell our numbers and consciousness while dodging ratcatchers and trying to subtly control those residents who we suspect might be able to further our goals.

Even playing a sentient item (sword or book) or a wizard's familiar or a psion's psycrystal who find itself alone on the streets of Sigil following the sudden demise of its master/owner and is forced to fend for itself could be fun to try out.

I'm getting giddy just thinking about the possibilities. :D
