D&D 3E/3.5 3.5 Ranger/Rogue combo effective?

ahhh *blush* Ancestral Mastery is a Home feat i created, that the ENworld board "i think 1 person :S" said was fair, and so i decided to let it stick, as my DM jsut didn't care much as long as others thought it's fair...however, hopefully more responses i can gain this time

Feat: Ancestral Mastery
Prerequisite: Fei'ri
Benefit: Gain the Ability to choose some special abilities they either did not previously aquire. They may choose one ability that has a asterix beside it's name (Damage Reduction, Dimension Door, Enervation)
Special: This feat may only be taken once and must be taken at 1st level.

personally, it seems fair enough, slightly better/worse than Fiendish/Celestial Bloodline...

Though opinons would still be appreiciated
