[3.5] Revision Spotlight - Druid class

NO MORE WEAPON RESTRICTIONS!

Did I read it wrong? It looks like the druids get an initial list of proficient weapons, but the spiritual oath only kicks in if they wear metal armour/shields... Nothing about their weapons! Woo Hoo!
I didn't catch that. Very cool. Chalk this up to another change that I love in 3.5.

Everyone's drooling about spontaneous summonings (which are cool, don't get me wrong), but they've really missed a cool addition. Wild Shape: Plant. Woohoo!

Yeah, but you can only use it to change into plants that are creatures. I think that changing into a blade of grass would be much more effective for spying than a shambling mound :)

Spontaneous summoning is nice, but Spot and Listen being added to class skills is a big boon as well.

Like others, I'm very curious about the spell list.

Apparently Spot and Listen have been added to the druid's list of class skills. It remains to be seen whether this is universal or only for nature based classes.

Without seeing the sidebar it's impossible to say for sure, but it also appears that the druids' animal companions have been toned down--it mentions leopards being available at 6th level while 3e 6th level druids often had Tigers or Dire Apes.

If only they'd done my house rule, which was 'metal armor gives spellcasting failure '. I was already doing the weapons that way, and spontaneous casting along with companions that improve with levels is great with me. Like the druid changes 100%!

Cheers

Or in other words(or at least how i see it) they almost got it right but they were too wussy to follow through to true greatness.
