Aenyeweddien´s parents died in an humanoid raid long ago, and his only though has been always revenge, so he inclined for the art of the sword at an early age. He was trained as a ranger, with little success, since his attention were always put on the sword and bow: the ways of the forest were of little interest to him, and being talled and heavier than the normal elf, he wasn´t so good at hiding and planning ambushes. Because of that, always training with the blade, he gained his name (though normally he´s called Dancer).

He has a deep hatred for orcs and humanoids that extends as a deep mistrust for anything not elf. He´s been always of the opinion to stop being on the defensive, so the elder´s inactivity has always exasperated him. But finally he´s decided to do something, whatever it is.

Character concepts

I may be a little premature in posting these, since I don't really know for sure if I've been accepted yet. But I thought I'd go ahead and share a couple of character concepts with you--could't hurt, after all.

1] My first concept is for a rebellious, 'druid-punk' sort of character. He's never gotten along well with his father (a particularly stiff elder) and he's run away from home on a few occasions, which has caused him to be viewed with strong distrust by a number of the other elves (they see him as having been 'tainted' by some of the outside world's ideas). This distrust has made it almost impossible for him to convince any of his tribemates about the seriousness of the coming danger.
He brings a different approach to his druidism. Instead of seeing Nature as something to be worshipped with awe, he sees it as a gentle and powerful force to be treated as a friend and equal. His scandalous religious ideas, along with his quirky habits and odd manner of dress, make him something of an outcast.

2] My other concept is for a spirit-haunted seer, an elven sorcerer whose power comes from his ancestor spirits. He'd be a little older than the other characters, as he was thought to be mentally impaired and treated as a child for much longer than most elves are. When younger, he used to have long conversations with imaginary friends and often completely ignored the world around him, which sometimes lead to painful accidents (stepping out onto bridges that weren't there, wandering aimlessly into dangerous sections of the forest). A few of the elders suspect that he may be seeing and interacting with spirits of some sort, but the majority just believe him to be hopelessly insane. Actually, they're both right, to a certain degree.
 

SOmeone: The elders DO just want to sit there. It's you and your friends that think that something else needs to be done. Just something that does not click from your background.

nonamazing: THose are great. I personally like the first one better, but it's up to you which one you want to play. Both of them are fine.

Krug: A female Wood Elf Bard sounds great.

johnsemlak: You are the forth player (or the first, as it were).

I'll give you all about a week to get your characters together. If I do not see anything active from anyone of you, then I'll start looking to the other people who had shown interest to fill in the spots.

Appearance: Laucian is quite small and slim, and although an adult in age, he is still a child in appearance. To offset his soft looks, Laucian has acquired a large amount of body modifications, a concept he picked up from humans. His ears are pierced with small wooden disks, and there is a polished wooden bit in his chin, just below his lip. The backs of his hands have each been pierced with three small double-ended wooden spears. The right side of his face has been tattooed with a green-and-black tribal design, and a pair of intricate hawk's wings decorate his back (the wings are made to match the wing pattern of his animal companion). Finally, his long elven hair has been matted and twisted into a variety of nature coloured dreadlocks: green, brown, orange, and black. Tied into his dreadlocks are bits of precious stone, feathers, leaves, animal teeth, and beads.

Laucian's soft brown leather armor is cut in a very non-traditional way--it resembles Gnomish armor, with many small pockets and belts. He wears fingerless leather gloves that are open on the back of the hand and bone-reinforced shoes that are similar to Dwarven metal-toed boots.

His sparkling silver eyes are always bright, and he constantly seems to be smiling.

Background: Laucian was a very cheerful child who took almost nothing serious--a poor match for his community. Try as they might, his elderly father could never get Laucian to pay attention to his lessons, to practice his weapon drills, or to show proper respect to the revered ancient traditions. At times, the clash between Laucian and his father grew quite severe, and Laucian would run away from home, planning to live a happier life among the other races of the world. But each time, Laucian eventually came back. Although he'd never admit it, he loved the Shadow Wood, and felt a deep affection to its people, even the stubborn and foolish elders.

Because Laucian has had some exposure to the outside world, he tends to be open to new ideas and original ways of thinking. He is quick to defend the ways of others, and to interject some piece of trivia about how the other races live. His personal religious philosophy has developed and changed in response to influences from other cultures. Instead of showing 'proper' respect and reverence to Nature, as the traditions say he should, Laucian believes that Nature exists has his friend and his equal, neither to be taken advantage of nor worshipped. Needless to say, this attitude has not met with approval from his stern father.

The last time Laucian ran away from home, he encountered some of the destruction and tragedy caused by the still loosely assembling subhumanoid horde. Rumors of the scale of the oncoming destruction reached his ears wherever he went. He returned home quickly, to convince the elders of the seriousness of what was occuring, but to no avail--they would not listen to a rebellious renegade like him. Try as he might, he could not convince the elders that they would need outside help.

The only people willing to listen to him were a few of his childhood friends. Could the four of them hope to make a difference?

Interactions: Laucian admires his cousin M'lya's free spirit, and her remarkable ability to influence his heart with her music. He's lived with Aenyeweddien since the raid that took his parents, but although the two of them have been friends, they've never been particularly close. Laucian has a hard time dealing with Aenyeweddien's intolerance of other cultures, but otherwise respects the warrior elf's martial prowess.

Well, if we´re playing elves then let´s play elves. Also I´m thinking ahead: at second level I´m taking Two weapon fighting.
 

Looks good so far... just a couple of things that I have seen:


Krug, your leather does give a chance of spell failure, if only 10%, so please note that.

nonamazing, Wood Elves still geta -2 to Con, but to make up for it, they also still get the +2 to Dex. Also, where did you find that Wood Elves got a +2 bonus to Knowledge Nature and Survival?
