I think that there should be a chance of failure otherwise there's no challenge and we're just playing the game to roll dice (yay).

Use a natural 20 (success) natural 1 (failure) variant for the tumble skill. So even the best tumblers can't get too cocky.

Although a rogue with a special ability could still use it to take 10s on Tumble checks.

It will be brutal if you try to go past 4 guys and get stopped mid point. Now they all get full attack options. And you were worried about AoOs.
