... I thought there was one in the Complete Warrior, but I don't remember for sure.

no, it isn't. THere are only 4 ranged combat focused classes in CW: Hulking Hurler, MAster Thrower, MAster of the Unseen Hand, and Order of the Bow Initiate

Whoops, mistook darkwood stalker for deepwood sniper.

What, in general, does the sniper get in 3.0? Is it an orc-hunter, too?

No, it gains range incremend increases, crit multiplier increases, eventually the ability to true strike...it is a long range sniper class.

I think they left that class out because it gives a higher multiplier on crits. See the weapon master which is also discontinued.

Thanks for the help so far. I'm trying to convert a Ranger/Wizard/Arcane Archer/Deepwood Sniper from 3.0 to 3.5. Can anyone suggest a sniper type prestige class to replace the deepwood sniper?

It's abilities, as I recall, would carry over over fairly easily into 3.5, except one of it's abilities was to subtract 10% from concealment every 3 levels. You could change that to bonuses vs. cover and eventually into improved precise shot. Just keep in mind that some spells *cough*Hunter's Mercy*cough* make the class broken, since it can take the crit multiplier on a longbow up to X5. I've played one, I didn't find them that overpowered (especially now since keen and improved critical don't stack)
