Wisdom might be a bit of a problem. . . ;)

That said, I can't think of many good options in 3e that don't involve spells. Hm. If only he were Lawful. . . :(

Bah, humbug!:p

He's getting 2 Bonus feats, D8HD, Medium BAB, and access to several PrCls- like the Pyrokineticist.

That gets him halfway to getting his next stat boost, which he can put into Wis!

Sure, its not optimal...and he may be a bit "slow" compared to other PsyWars...but when he finally does get his powers, LOOK OUT!

OTOH, there are other classes that could be fun.

A few levels of Soulknife (and Pyro) gets him a PC with a suite of weapon that can't be taken away, and the PC's stats support a Psion or Wilder equally well, and if he sticks with it, he could use the Expanded Knowledge feat to learn Expansion...and have the power to double-pump it.

That translates into his longsword doing 3d6 base damage...

Levels in Warlock gives him (again) an attack that won't go away, and he has the stats to support it. And depending on how he wants to do things, he could start off with a blast either capable of striking at a great distance or channeled into his melee attacks.

Battle Sorcerer and Warmage- again supported by his stats- gives him armored spellcasting (up to Medium armor w/Battlecaster feat, which RAW, includes Mithril Plate), and depending on spell selection, gets him things like Enlarge (more melee damage & reach) or direct damage spells. And as a Half-Elf, they're both thematically appropriate.

Pyrokineticist?

Fire is one of the most popularly resisted/negated type of energy. In case of spells you can at least take feats from Sandstorm but ...

Anyway, relying on one type of energy is a bad idea.

Pyrokineticist?
I was thinking a better choice would be Warmind myself.

The whole psychic thing would work ok if the DM allowed a stat switch between Cha and Wis.

Go Psychic Warrior, then Warmind, pick up Improved Trip and/or Knockdown, and use/abuse the Warmind's Sweeping Strike.

Problem is, SR will kill that, and Hideous Blow blows hideously. Eldritch Glaive is a good melee option, but his damage just won't be high enough. 1d6 damage isn't impressive at level 5. Might as well get a bow and some arrows.

The only time an attack that won't go away matters at level 5 and above is if you're captured and stripped naked... but how much good will a 1d6 attack do you then anyways?

The best use for Warlock is not for the Eldritch Blast, but for the invocations such as See the Unseen and Spiderwalk, which gives the fighter new and refreshing options.

I recommend to take another level of Fighter (or maybe a level of Barbarian) and raise the Intimidate to Rank 8, then proceed to Outcast Champion (Races of Destiny). That is a melee class with simple and yet strong class features. As the class gives moral bonus to will saves (not just that character but all the comrades nearby) it will complement the major weakness of typical melee warriors (low will-save). With a cool fluff, too.

Ftr4/Brb1/Outcast Champion looks fun imho and fits the build of the PC. In fact i think this is the only full-BAB PrC that this PC can qualify for at level5 without rebuilding. So excellent advice there. Also it is 5-level PrC, which i generally like.

How about retraining some alternate class features to pep up those fighter levels? (Or use them for the Barbarian level.) Check out this ACF compilation on gleemax. Cityscape has some interesting ACFs appropriate for urban Barbarians. (Roofdweller, Ferocity & Skilled City Dweller)
