3 characters vs. 30+ goblins?

Well, your Barb friend saw a big pool of X.P.'s and couldn't resist. Fair enough, but the outcome really wasn't unfair, and he should suck it up and create another character.

It depends on what the GM wants to happen.

For instance, if I wanted the party to survive, I'd have the goblins be shocked, unable to assemble fully for a few rounds, as they are 'picknicking', figure that there's more characters, and retreat.

If I wanted the party to die, there would be more goblins on wolves coming up behind them to get them in a pincer trap and they'd die.
