D&D 4E 3 months in and 7 to go - will YOU switch to 4e?

How will my game be affected by 4e?

I voted for the first option (continue with 3.x campaign) (I've just started a new one) for a number of reasons.
The number of sessions my group plays a year is too few to invest much time in a conversion/switch. Some of the players don't even know 3.x very well. I think I've got enough common sense and/or flexibility (rule 0) to deal with some of the negative aspects of the current edition. Besides, we're having plenty of fun now.

Of course, this doesn't mean I won't check out the 4.x SRD...

I expect our current 3.5 campaign to continue as 3.5.

I'll definitely pick up the 4E PHB for evalution, but whether I switch is still up in the air, There are a lot of interesting changes ... and a lot I don't like. Other than Pathfinder, I've put all D&D purchasing on hiatus until next May.

I'll be there on Day One. I like new shinies. I like almost everything I've seen about 4e so far. I have "gamer ADD." :-) I've gotten rid of nearly all of my 3.x books already.

The fact that it's coming out just as my Changeling the Lost and Scion games will be wrapping up is helpful in my decision, though not paramount.

That's just what I expect our group to do too. We have plenty of 3.5 material to keep going but switching to 4E all depends on how the system as a whole looks. And for me it's too early to make a good judgment call.

We're going to finish War of the Burning Sky.

After that, my current plan is to run Rise of the Runelords (also 3.5) as I have no reason to switch to 4th edition.

However, I am hoping that by then WotC will have given me many excellent and compelling reasons to switch to 4th edition. If so, I'll probably run Paizo's first 4th edition Pathfinder adventure path (assuming such a thing exists by then) using the 4 ed SRD.

At some point I may have come to terms with WotC cancelling the print magazines, and decide to buy some of their D&D products.

Current campaign (Savage Tide) will continue as 3.5e, simply because converting the whole damn thing is a hassle I don't want to deal with. After that - we'll see. None of the info released so far is anything like detailed enough to base a decision on, so I'll wait until the books are out, and then see whether I like the rules and what the group thinks. We're only at 6th level so far, after 6 months, so there'll be plenty of time.

I'll pick up the 4e MM, PH, and DMG when they come out; it's the only way to make an informed decision. However, at this point 4e has yet to "wow" me. I've read a lot of potential changes that I don't like but have yet to stumble across any information about 4e that excites me.

First, I don't plan to end my current campaign. If 4e makes it difficult to convert an undersea campaign where the BBEG is a bard, the PCs are not core races, and the setting is the World of Greyhawk, then 3.5e is a superior system.

And let's not even mention the D&D Insider, Gleemax, and other upcoming abominations.

I'll probably check out the SRD to mine it for some house rules. Other than that, the previews have strongly suggested that 4th edition will not fit my tastes.
