3 Questions about B&F2, RPGObjects and RPGnow

Question #1

I'm looking at doing a big purchase at RPG Now. Nearly a hundred bucks worth of PDFs, all of it d20 Modern stuff.

Is there a difference between the material presented in the Blood and Fists [Bundle] which includes Blood and Fists, Blood and Fists: Hong Kong Knights, Blood and Space 2: Cosmic Fury, Modern Dispatch (#19): Shadow Cult, Modern Dispatch (#55): Nakamura Blades, and Wasteland Fury: Post Apocalyptic Martial Arts ....

http://www.rpgnow.com/product_info.php?products_id=5999&

.... and the Blood and Fists: Master Edition (Print) coming out in August?

http://www.rpgobjects.com/index.php?page=pro&product_id=222

Is the latter merely the print edition of the former?

Question #2

What is the difference between making purchases at RPGnow.com and RPGobjects.com? Or is there a difference? The formats seem remarkably similar.

Questin #3

Does anyone know if there is going to be a print edition of the material in the Blood and Guts 2 [Bundle]?

I like to support my RPG PDF publishers, and if there is a way that does more directly, I'd like to know.

Chuck here, RPGO employee and author of Blood and Fists and Blood and Guts. I'll take these one at a time:

#1: The Blood and Fists Master edition is a printing of Blood and Fists, B&F II, Wasreland Fury and Cosmic Fury. So it has all the "core material" but not the two dispatch issues included in the bundle.

So the Master edition is basically a printing of the bundle, though it will be organized differently. I just went through an edited manuscript last night for instance and all the real world styles were together, not grouped into their B&F and B&F II groupings.

#2: None. If you click a "buy now" link at RPGObjects for an e-book it's going to take you to RPGNow, if you click a "buy now" link for a print book it will take you to RPGMall.com- basically the links are just there to automate the process of taking you to where we sell.

#3: Nothing has been set in stone as of yet, however I expect that B&Guts II will see a printing whenever I get done writing all of it. Certainly sales of the B&F Master edition and other annoying aspects of reality could influence this decision but the big stumbling block in the way right now is that I have not yet completed everything we would need to even discuss printing it.

As an aside (and a step in that direction) I did recently finish B&G II: Wild Blue Yonder, an update and expansion of the air vehicle selection from B&G. Once I update/expand the land and sea vehicles, that's when we will take a hard look at a possible print run.

Something I'd like to point out to you is our upgrade program: http://www.rpgobjects.com/index.php?page=articles&article_id=47

This makes the decision of whether to buy in PDF or print really painless, since buying one gets you the other. Buy the PDF and get a discount on the printed copy when it arrives, buy the print copy and get a copy of the PDF. There's no way to get "burned" by doing one or the other.

Thanks for the questions, hope this helped.

Thank you, Chuck.

I have print copies of both B&G I, and Blood and Fists. I really enjoy your work. I'm gearing up right now to run a d20 Modern Black Ops campaign, and Blood and Guts has gotten a lot of reading lately. Your summary of the chain of command in the armed services was the most succinct rendering I've ever read, and your blending of history, present events and game mechanics was top notch.

I have the following items in my cart:

Blood and Guts 2 [BUNDLE]
Military Action [BUNDLE]
Modern: 13 Classified and Experimental Ammunition Types
Modern: 13 Grenades
BlackHammer Tech - Shape-Memory Polymers

And then, just for fun, I added these:

E.N. Mini-Games - Gun-Fu: Balletic Ballistics
E.N. Mini-Games - With A Bullet (A Gun-Fu Adventure)

Are there any other PDFs at your site that you'd recommend? I had to trim down a little bit, and shuffle some things off to my Wish List, but I'm looking mainly for good crunchy stuff for a special forces campaign that I hope will take a turn into a modern fantasy along the lines of Laurell K. Hamilton's best novels (the non-orgy books), Stargate SG-1, the Fireborn d6 game and Jim Butcher's work.

I already have the d20 Modern main book, Urban Arcana, Blood and Fists, Blood and Guts, d20 Past, d20 Cyberscape, d20 Future, the Menace Manual, Ultramodern Firearms, and d20 Modern Weapons Locker.

If you're going to take the game in a "weird" direction you might want to check out Blood and Secrets, which was written for Superagents SHIELD-ish games.

It is also very compatible with B&G and might give you some extra mechanics even if you don't want to run an agency-esque game.

Other than that, looks like you have things well in hand, drop me a line and let me know how the game goes :)
