3.X Petition

I was wondering when someone would create a dragonsfoot-type site for 3.x grognards. I'm sure it won't take them long to ban any mention of other editions and label 4e players as 4rons or some such.

This has nothing to do with 4th Edition bashing. It has everything to do with making sure new material is released for those who don't wish to make the switch to 4th edition.

No need to get sarcastic... :\

Umm, where were you? The names were already here the day before the annopuncement was officially made.

4skins was the winner.

This is a 4e discussion forum, maybe it's be better in General Discussion.

....What I find particular amusing about this bit is that one of the common arguments AGAINST 4th ed is that 'We already have so much of it, why change?' :D

As a recommendation, if you're the one who created it, might I suggest not calling it the 'ONLY point of light' for the DnD community. That seems needlessly elitist.

I'm glad that you like what you've been reading about 4th edition. As someone who's played every edition of D&D that's been released since 1981, I am not pleased with the direction the game is taking. That's the main reason I'm not switching to 4th edition.

If I were Wow'd (no pun intended) by what I've seen about 4th edition I've have no problems shelling out my money. Sadly, that ain't the case.

The petition wasn't set up by me... so I can't change the page's wording (which, I agree, could be a little off-putting to those who don't get the "points of light" joke).

This fact seems to be lost on several of those signing the petition. "Down with 4E!" and some ad hominem attacks already.

The grognardism should be stamped out quickly if that site is to have any chance of being a place for reasonable people.

Yup, it bothered me.

I recommend something much more effective than a petition, though. You want publishers to keep making 3e-compatible products? then vote with your wallet. Go, right now and every month between now and the end of next year, and buy 3.5 pdfs and published books. the only way publishers will keep producing is if people are buying... so show them you're willing to do so.
