3.X Petition

I've already reported one ad thread for this site, so I feel that's worth keeping in mind.

And wasn't there already a 3.75 petition someone started here?

Also, it seems the 4e forum is also the best place to find people who want 4e to fail and the design team to end up unemployed and homeless. Apparently because they enjoy misery.

Also also, doesn't Frostmarrow's user title involve '4on' already? I thought it was brilliant.

I like the poll that shows 100% of people (4 votes) voting for 3.75 as their favourite edition of D&D EVAR - even though it doesn't exist yet.

The tone of that site is really off-putting. As a small publisher I am considering publishing further 3.5 stuff in the future. But we don't need any more 4E hate than we already have.

Yup, it bothered me.

I recommend something much more effective than a petition, though. You want publishers to keep making 3e-compatible products? then vote with your wallet. Go, right now and every month between now and the end of next year, and buy 3.5 pdfs and published books. the only way publishers will keep producing is if people are buying... so show them you're willing to do so.

I've suggested some changes to the page's creator to make it less snarky.

Speaking for myself, I have no interest in "bringing down" WotC. I'd simple like to make sure that some 3rd party publishers keep producing new materials for 3.X in the same way that new material for AD&D is still being published by Goodman Games and Pied Piper Publications.

As for my supporting 3.X, I have been all along and will keep my Paizo Pathfinder subscription until they convert to 4th edition. I have little interest in buying pdfs but would be happy to buy quality any 3.X products that are released.

Any efforts that help to support those players who are planning on staying with 3E, are a good thing in my eyes.

I believe that EN World will continue to be a welcome spot for 3E grognards in the future. But with its emphasis obviously turning to 4E, finding a new home for those of us who are not interested in the new edition will slowly become more of a need. What we will need is our own Dragonsfoot. Maybe this site will become that home for us? Time will tell.

This has nothing to do with 4th Edition bashing. It has everything to do with making sure new material is released for those who don't wish to make the switch to 4th edition.

No need to get sarcastic... :\

Honestly, I wasn't really being sarcastic. I've been around the internet long enough to know this is what will happen:

1. someone makes a forum for an oop game
2. edition wars rage on the forum
3. more extremist factions create their own forums that are "more true" to the oop edition
4. forum increases moderation and bans talk of newer editions to pacify extremists
5. factions that hate moderation create their own forum to badmouth members of the old forum
6. ....
7. Profit!!!

TSR kept publishing printings of the 1e PHB into 1991, nearly 3 years after 2e was introduced. Why? 'Cus people were still buying it and retailers were still requesting copies to re-stock their shelves.

You want producers to keep making 3e stuff? Keep buying it.

With the OGL the way it is, I imagine at least one d20 oriented producer will test the market with some 3e compatable products after 4e is introduced. If they do it, and it's decent stuff, make sure you vote with your wallet.

I hope its Paizo that tests that market because they are one of the few companys that are produceing good products (My point of view only)

Side question what the hell is a Gronard or what ever it was
