300 trailer

It looks to me like a Frazetta or Vallejo painting come to life. Which is not entirely a bad thing.

This was pretty much my thought, coupled with the digital recording and mostly blue-screen CGI...I feel tingly all over!

I saw the trailer linked from another board I'm on, but it was on apple's site...maybe here: http://www.apple.com/trailers/wb/300/

It looks, to me, like a giant pile of crap.

Too much "super-heroic posing" and "WWF yelling" to be considered any kind of worthwhile telling of the story. The slow-motion jumping combat stuff was too silly for words. I found it especially interesting that, for some reason, the Spartans decided to fight without any armor, but then again, in Hollywoodland, armor serves no actual protective function.

Leave it to crappy moviemakers to take what is an actual, compelling true story, and turn it into a badly acted crapfest that looks like it will make professional wrestling seem like high drama in comparison.

Liking that wolf, the "monster-esque" creatures/people and other visuals. Definitely a big screen viewing is in order for this one.

This looks like fun. I do hope they have an interesting score, since the music in the trailers, while not "period" or "false period" (the 19th and early 20th century arrangement orchestra pieces that have become standard since good ole Basil Poledorus talked Mr. Delaurentis out of a rock score for Conan), certainly seemed to have the right kind of evocative surge for the translation from graphic novel to big screen.

Historical innacuracies aside, since really, this is an adaptation based on a graphic novel, which was based loosely on the Battle of Thermopylae, I'm looking forward to some fun battle scenes.

Those guys with the masks, are those the Immortals i've been reading about?
Yep. They were called Immortals because when one of them fell, the body would be dragged away and he would be replaced with another Immortal. And since they all look the same, it's like the dude came back from the dead.

Yeah - I hate when people can't produce historically accurate media productions.

Still, it's not as bad as what this hack (you probably haven't heard of him) called Shakespeare did with the history of Henry V and the French-English wars. And a bunch of other stories.
