300 trailer

Yeah - I hate when people can't produce historically accurate media productions.

My complaints aren't about making the production historically accurate. My complaints are primarily that it looks like it will be about as interesting as watching a WWF fight night, and about as well-acted. Guys standing around, striking super-macho poses and bellowing incomprehensibly bad dialogue at one another makes for a bad movie. Braveheart was a historically inaccurate movie that was good despite that. This movie appears to couple historical inaccuracy with a bad screenplay, lousy acting, and silly fight scenes.

And this is all the more depressing because the actual story of Thermopylae is one of the better historical stories out there. The sin with the historical inaccuracy, in this case, is that the producers decided to ignore excellent source material, and instead turned out crap.

I take it you haven't read 300, then?

Because it is EXCELLENT source material.

WWF fights? Super-macho poses? Bellowing dialogue? Sounds like it is a graphic novel put to film. Oh, look at that, it is indeed inspired by a graphic novel!

;)

Yep. They were called Immortals because when one of them fell, the body would be dragged away and he would be replaced with another Immortal. And since they all look the same, it's like the dude came back from the dead.

I wonder if they got killed alot because of the loss of peripheral vision :).

Actually, I'd say your complaint is that it looks like something that doesn't fit your tastes. And it seems that your idea of what the filmmakers should be aiming for is very different to what they're actually shooting for.

So one can boil down all of your posts to "I don't think I'll like it."

Brevity sometimes is actually the soul of wit.

Sir, may I applaud your fine use of verbiage? You are like a Rancor made of droll commentary and scathing wit, wrapped in topcoat of civility. (Which in and of itself is a disturbing mental picture.)

We really need a button on ENWorld entitled, "Unleash the Shilsen!"

Nah, just sarcastic amusement levels. chuckle.

See, now because of this trailer, I'm also interested in the graphic novel, which I had not heard of (not being aware of that medium very much in recent years). I may have to see if the local store has a copy.
