I keep reading about it... but I don't have a clue of what it is can someone tell me plz.

In our campain my DM us his technic of the 75 point flat (before ajustement) spread on the 6 stats.

I know this make powerfull caracter (Avg flat: 12,12,12,13,13,13)

I would like to know any other you use for caracteristic stats(Excluding the classic 3d6 x12 or 4d6 - the small)

It's the point buy system in the DMG, page 19-20.

All your stats start at 8, you get a certain amount of points to buy them up, then adjust with the racial modifier.

Up to 14 costs 1 point per increase, 15-16 costs 2 points per increase, and 17-18 costs 3 points per increase.

Code:
 [COLOR=orangered]
Stat    Cost
  8  =   0 pts.
  9  =   1 pts.
 10 =   2 pts.
 11 =   3 pts
 12 =   4 pts.
 13 =   5 pts.
 14 =   6 pts.
 15 =   8 pts.
 16 = 10 pts.
 17 = 13 pts.
 18 = 16 pts.
[/COLOR]

Standard is 25 points, a "Tougher" campaign is 28 points, and a "High-Powered" campaign is 32 points. Some people play with higher or lower point totals.

32 point buy (or fill in any number, the higher the more "epic" the game some say)

Ability scores cost:
8: 0
9: 1
10: 2
11: 3
12: 4
13: 5
14: 6
15: 8
16: 10
17: 13
18: 16

so a caracter with 32 buy point could look like

18,18,8,8,8,8 right! Since 18 need 16 point buy.....

Well im kinda used of over powered caracter:)

Any character with four 8's is going to have a lot of blind spots.

8 Str -> useless in melee
8 Wis -> crap Will save (hold and dominate spells)
8 Dex -> crap AC, Ref save and ranged attacks
8 Con -> crap hp and Fort save (death spells, energy drain)
8 Int -> no skill points and languages
8 Cha -> hm, well, there's got to be a dump stat.

Easy: Make a druid. 18 Wis, 18 Int or Con. Then: Survive till you can wildshape :)

Or a mage with Int 18 and Con 18. No mage should ever enter melee... but he will have decent spellcasting abilities and hitpoints.

8 charisma: Crap Leadership

Leadership is quite possibly the MOST powerful feat in the game. What other feat could DOUBLE the total power of your character? Sure, you have to share experience, but in 3e you're going up like a rocket anyways.

At level 6 it kinda sucks but at 9+ it rocks. Three of my six players have taken it, one at six and two at nine.

Using a flat 1:1 cost really doesn't work well. Especially with the spellcasting classes, the higher ability scores become increasingly valuable. It also helps prevent two-ability score wonders.

I would highly suggest that you suggest that the GM switch over to 75-48 = 27 pt buy or more.

With high ability scores in a spellcasting class, you get more spells (bonus from high ability score) that are more effective (higher DC).

Supposedly, the game is balanced and playtested with characters that started with the standard array of 15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8 arranged to the players choice.
