3e DM's who have never played 3e.

I had to beg plead and whine in order to actually get playing time in. They finally gave in when I said I could/would suffer from burnout if I didn't get a chance to play...

I have played, but the first time I ever participated (or saw, for that matter) a game, I GM'd. Not to mention that my first ever RPG book was the 3e DMG. :)

Nope, I'm in the same boat - always a DM, never a player. In fact, the same holds true for 2E as well. The last time I was actually a player was back in the 1E days. (Hmm, never stopped to realize that before.)

I'm in the opposite situation: I have almost exclusively played 3e, rather than DMing it. This was a big departure from 2e, which I ran for many years and virtually never played.

It's a pretty strange adjustment, and I imagine it would be just as strange in the other direction.

I haven't played 3e either. I'd like to, but I don't know anyone else willing to DM, and I dunno if I've got time for two regular games. Still, it'd be nice.

Although still new to the game (can't really count the dabbling done in grade school) I also fall into the category of "always a DM, never a player" I'm sure I could find a game to play in, but I know that I'd be picky about game/players. So I just fill the void here and with lots of d20 books (spent about $200 on books and minis today. Ouch! But lots of good stuff)

My son (12yrs old now) actually DM'd the 3e adventure game b4 I even had the chance to finish the core rulebooks. Since then, I have exclusively DM'd, but I may have just finally convinced my wife to try her hand at running a game.

I haven't played a role-playing game since about 1980 or 1981.

I DM'ed exclusive from then till 1984..took 15 years off, and then started up as a DM again...

Honestly there are very few rpg's I really like running these days...including 3E...most are too complicated, I spend more time worrying about rules (as do most players) than telling a good story. Though, I did have fun with Exalted and WEG Star Wars, which are pretty easy to run...

But playing is an entirely different story...I'm up for anything....Rolemaster, HERO, 3E...
