Here's one:
Combat tactics are one of the few places where players have a lot of control over the game. To restrict their fun in doing that by obfuscating their ability to use tactical planning suggests that some DMs are placing a higher priority on what they consider to be "realism" (there is room for doubt that it is, as this thread has already suggested) than player enjoyment of one of the more gamey aspects of the game.
I dunno - DMs already have enough control, and when I see attempts to restrict some of the true control that players do have, I begin to question the legitimacy of the intentions and priorities behind those restrictions.
