I was just wondering everyone's views on it. I like 3e better.... but i like some things about 3.5. I dont know if someone else already did this thread, but im new to this section of ENworld so i thought i would make one.

Despite the errors, errata and omissions, I think that 3.5 explains things in better detail, with many improvements to broken spells and underpowered classes.

every system has it's own set of good and bad things. somebody's .sig on this board states: "the rules should serve the game, not the other way around" or something to that effect.

So I put "I don't care". Doesn't matter if I'm playing a ruleset from 1980 or 2003, it still feels like D&D to me.

Look at the post right before yours. Or after it, for that matter. ;)

7) Fiend vs. Fiend DR

Its kind of hard to envision the Blood War when there is no blood being spilled...hehe;) I can see why you want to Rule 0 with the fiend DR.

1)Square facings

I agree. Most DM's were smart enough to design a space large enough for the creature to fight in based on the actual space it took up on a map.

Now I have problems figuring out if you can run past a creature even though it doesn't completely take up the physical space it occupies. I also don't like plotting squares of movement and reach consider that space should really account for the reach. Now that they are using Space, as in combat space, they should have just done away with Reach. Reach is really only valid if you are talking about the distance from the actual creature rather than the entire Space it fights in.

Given the way I map, this new Space system is really unwieldy. I find that I like the old one better, but it would be too much of a pain to use it since I don't want to have use two Monster Manual's all the time.

8) De-"Ex"ed wildshape.

I don't play many druids, so I will have to see this in action before I decide whether it has a tangible game effect requiring a House rule. I'll probably still allow things like Low Light or Darkvision to work anyhow.

Original D&D (1974) is the only true game. All the other editions are just a poor imitation of the real thing.:D

You should start selling T-shirts with that on the front.

So far, the only I really do not like in 3.5 is square facings. The class changes have been great in closing the power level differences between characters. I also like the organization of the DMG so much better!
