[tiptoe] alarm

Tiptoe smiles somewhat grimly, speaking quickly in a low voice "They hear us here... we hear them there..."
We don't want to have to sneak around hidden everywhere; how can we make true progress if we are watching our step carefully throughout?
He bends down, stroking the worg's fur a bit.

"We should go to them. But make sure they are the enemies..."

I wonder how any sort of alarm system could be set up here? Could there be a civilization of some kind in these caves beyond that of the monsters we see roaming freely?
He turns toward the glow of the fire beetles, remembering the trash piles.
Well, best not to get ahead of myself.

Tiptoe will go with the groups' majority; having little combat experience up to this point makes him feel extremely unsure of his own suggestion the moment he says it.

Sounds from the north are getting closer, and as the group is concidering it's possibilities, they can hear them enter the room with the stairs, though from their present position, only the dwarfs can see anything.. and the thing is a few goblins, causiously moving in the direction of the party.

They seem to see you at the same time and pull back out of range. They seemed to have been wearing leatha dn carrying shields and javelins.

Seeing the goblins, Dagart whispers to his comrades. "Gobbos! I'll take care o' them. One o' you look t' see if ye can find a way to stop that blasted racket 'afore we have the whole place on us." He takes a moment to raise his shield in front of his face and begins to advance towards the goblins.

OOC: Total defense (+4 AC) as a standard action, then moving diagonally towards the goblins at my normal speed. Hopefully I can trick them to throw their javelins while I'm defending myself.

Tiptoe turns to the two of his companions preparing (or attacking) the goblins. He nods at Daggart's suggestion.
I hate to leave them, but since Gnash and Munch are with me I can probably manage alright...
Shaking his head, Tiptoe turns and runs toward the source of the sound, calling Gnash and Munch behind him.
I must make haste
 

The alarm in the distance suddonly stops. And Tiptoe had not had a chance to actually leave yet.

Dagart starts to move in the direction that the goblins, but does not see them, or hear them... they seem to have disappeared, or hidden. Behind one of the doors maybe?

Tiptoe frowns... "they know where we are... we don't know where they are. we should change that."

Thinking to himself, Tiptoe casts his gaze around the room:
It's strange that they would leave such a fierce animal here alone, seemingly for no reason. And that alarm... is there something in this room I'm missing? Well, I suppose we don't have time at the moment to search.

Tiptoe will, however, look around quickly to see if he can spot what triggered the alarm -- a quick glance at the doorknob and the spot the worg stood will be all he takes the time for, hoping the alarm will be easy to spot.
If they have an alarm that opens with the door, there must be some way to open it without setting it off.... that worg must be fed somehow. If those goblins have some kind of key, it might be worth the noise


"Attack, or move? We can't linger..." He eyes his companions quickly "We're not hurt, really; if there are only two...."

Tiptoe would prefer to attack the goblins, but will if all others wish to proceed without worrying it's okay with him. If the group is willing to attack, he'll move:
