So normally you'd spend your action to "activate" the power that lasts as long as you concentrate, but since you spent your action this turn you can only actually use the power with things that require an action in the next round while already losing any other concentration (like Psychic Focus) the moment you activate the power.
How about this "solution" (either as a new option just for Body Alteration or similar powers):
Augment of 1 die:
Quicken: You can only use this augment on a power with a duration that is (possibly) longer than one round (including Concentration). This augment allows the power to be activated as a bonus action but the duration is reduced to 1 round (without Concentration even if the original power had it)
This would allow you to do a quick burst of a power also freeing the action to use it right now while "gambling" with a psi die.
