16/October/2006 - New Website and Dark Heresy Street Date Confirmed
October 16th, 2006 (Nottingham, England): In a flurry of activity, Black Industries have today premiered their expanded, redesigned website, www.blackindustries.com. As well as being clearer and easier to navigate, it features new downloads and is stuffed with player aids.

The site also sees the debut of a new wing devoted to the upcoming Warhammer 40,000 Roleplay: Dark Heresy. The new section confirms that Black Industries are moving the street date of Dark Heresy to Fall 2007. This change will allow the game’s developers additional time to playtest the rules and fine-tune the text.

Marc Gascoigne, head of Black Industries said, “This will be the biggest RPG release of 2007, and we want to make sure it is absolutely the best game out there. We are taking our time to ensure this game plays smoothly, looks sensational, and oozes with the grim darkness of the far future. Some fans have waited twenty years for this game. We are confident they’ll understand why we’re going the extra mile to make this worth their wait.”

Limited numbers of pre-release copies of Dark Heresy are expected to be on sale at GenCon Indy, August 2007, through BI’s US partners, Sabertooth Games. Attendees will also be able to participate in demonstration games throughout the convention.

Kate Flack, BI’s RPG Brand Manager, enthused: “Dark Heresy’s launch is going to be the event of the show. As you might expect, our new demo crews will be out in force, ensuring everyone can join us in rooting out the heretics and traitors that infest the galaxy. Keep an eye on the events listings, because those games will fill up quick.”

For more information keep a vigilant watch on www.blackindustries.com. After all, a mind without purpose will wander in dark places.

I'll probably check this out, depending on the Amazon price of course. 49.99 is a little steep for my tastes.

That's just the download price for the PDF preview. Wait until the ultra-uber leather-bound edition with gold leaf illuminations comes out. ;)

Can't wait for it... sure its a bit pricy but then all of the Warhammer line has been a bit higher then the "standards" but not as high as I think RPG could go... they still seem pretty cheap to me (and I have been buying them for over 20 years now ;))

This will be a first for a 40k game.
I think it is mostly to proof-read, the Tome of Corruption had some issues, that should have been caught but then editting has been bad in the RPG market for years.
