D&D 4E 4e and Video Games

So we are all speculating on what 4e is going to bring to the table. What about other some other areas for a change. Specifically, what's up on the video game front? I know Bioware is working on an announced MMO project. Any chance that could be a 4e MMO? Who has the license for D&D games? Lastly, didn't Diablo 2 use some form of 3e? I haven't played it in ages, but wasn't character advancement based on Feats? A Diablo 3 using the new 4e system would be super sweet.

I'd certainly love to see something that allow single-player party-based play along the lines of the Baldur's Gate series, but with the sort of fine tactical combat engine of ToEE. I'm not interested in a 4E MMO.

But then I'd like to win the lottery, too.

Diablo II did not use 3e rules in any way. There were several DnD supplements for the Diablo setting and with class/ability/spell ports.

Does Atari still have the license for most computer games?

Yeah, and your point is? I'm not comparing the two at all. I was just wondering if we'll see another Baldur's Gate, Never Winter Nights, or a good MMO using 4e anytime soon. One of the guys from over at Code Monkey Publishing said they had an NDA and knew about 4e for a year and a half. Makes you wonder who else was on board and what else is in the pipeline.

With more refined rules, fighter maneuvers, a step away from vancian magic, and 30 levels of experience, I see 4e as the friendliest version yet for a computer game conversion. Perhaps D&D Online will get a facelift as well, and turn into an MMO I'd actually want to play. :uhoh:
