Ranger and Avenger.
(God every time I post this I think of new reasons to hate these classes).

With 4e doing everything "new", I really wanted to see the Ranger in a different light.
However, it's nothing more than 3e ranger with Twin Strike tacked on.

God, why they ever added Twin Strike and Oath of Enmity is beyond all reasoning.

Whiffing is unfun... and really unfun on dailies... so OoE is even available in MC form to allow somebody to go all biblical on the bad guys!!!! - and do so with surity.

Stop picking on the ranger. He does his job.

In our party of four, everyone has their place and expertise:

The wizard keeps the back ranks of foes from reinforcing the melee; locks down the occasional really dangerous foe; keeps the remnants from fleeing to warn and reinforce the next encounter.

The fighter holds the attention of the foes; he also kills not a few.

The warlord heals and more importantly ensures that everyone hits when it is important.

The much maligned ranger, it is his job to kill the enemy. Twin strike is one of his tools, but with his damage, he rarely shoots more than a few twin strikes in a combat: his encounter powers and the occasional daily usually finish off most of the monsters. Plus with his other powers he can immobilize and even stun.

Oh, and he perceives the enemies and traps and disarms them too. Plus he sneaks up to scout out dubious situations.

I do not get the ranger-hate either. For the first time in a long time, the ranger is the best archer and not just some lame half-druid... He is, as should be, a man who can handle his own, only supported by his trusty bow or longsword.

I certainly like the archer... he is THE man, not just a man....

Rumor has it that he has too many abusive static damages blowing his damage dealing out of proportion to everyone elses (and yeah that means all the other strikers) combining with the characters multi-attack capability(TS or otherwise) ... but that is just inuendo.

He is said by some to be simple as dirt to play... (and others seem to tag that as boring).

Others claim he lacks the flavor that he would have had if he were primal.. and still others seem to hate primal because they are primal.(and he seems kind of primal).
