4e Combat Playtest [FULL]

HOLY ****!! I get some sleep and you devastate the battlefield like that!? Meanies :P
Gotta change some tactics to keep this challenging...

Half: Yeah, sentinel Strike... I was gonna attack Brudd but the lenght of the process made me forget. Sigh. Oh well I'll correct that.

Hey, it's a Goristro. It's not smart :).
But, Half, you also made a mistake. Square K9 is occupied, so Brudd can't shift there. So no bonus from the boots this round, a 2 targets less on battle pyre. Sorry.
(Unless I missed something. Did I?)

Its K8, sorry but the maps have changed when I look at them they no longer have names or lines on them so it is hard to differentiate one square from another - no idea why. Brudd would definetly shift to get the extra foes.

Note the descriptive text just has Brudd shifting to the right which is what I intended so that should get, and hit, both Archons.

uhmm. Wait. What do you mean they have no names or lines? Maybe I posted the map wrong...?

Heck. It's true. Ok, since it's my fault I'll allow Brudd's shifting to k8.

Quick question:

Is the Fire Giant's line of sight to Eiran blocked? There are two fire-filled squares between him and the giant. And if his LOS is blocked, does that help Eiran out in any way defensively? Like a penalty to the Fire Giant's ranged fire pillar attack?

Just wondering, because Eiran really dislikes getting burned (lol).

Ok Half, fixed the round. Though, I don't know if it was so beneficial, since Brudd downed two in a round, but now He, Kozaar and Feather are blind.

Eiran: as i said, the flames grant concealment in they intersect line of sight. However, since they occupy roughly one square (so the Giant is much taller) and given the angle, I'd say it doesn't apply. However, it' s not all that relelvant, since the Giant hits even with a -2 penalty.

Hmm, well it would have just happened later so I am still happy with the result - and lets face it Brudd had no way to know it was going to happen.

I think Brudd will just allow everyone who wants to to spend a healing surge on his next turn with Battle Cry - that way I can also have a crack at the Goristo and the Dreadnaught albeit wit a -5 penalty, as well as using a healing word on himself.

True. Anyway the fight is going very fast. Both in real time(great momentum!) and in game terms. I guess if you're lucky it could even be over in a couple of rounds...
How does this compare to your previous experiences of 4e combat, if any?

The next encounter will be quite different from this one, so I'm curious to see how it will go.
