D&D 4E 4e Drow predictions?

If so, then you might find this interesting.
Yep saw it earlier today, it's a nice bit of flavor. If I hadn't already established they were the result of a curse against priestesses of a Sharess like deity of lust who grew so self-absorbed and vain she finally struck them down I'd use it. I'll definitely make sure it finds a way into at least one setting though.

Why not just go the whole hog and just make Drow good, if that's what all the players want? :P
In all honesty I like my evil drow. Or at least, I'd like some mostly-evil-but-not-child-sacrificing-evil.

I've only played a drow once, in a freeform setting. He was a selfish, greedy, conniving bastard on the run from some assassins. Except that he hid in the guise of a blind sun elf, using a perpetual illusion, so he had to act unassuming, defenseless, and respectful.

I think that WotC should be truly visionary and get rid of all the spider-crap that the drow wallow in.

Spiders are so old school.

Instead, the drow should be associated with some new, fresh kind of creature.

Hmm.

Like hamsters.
Oh, if hamsters are so freakin great why don't ya change your handle there wolfspider. ;)

This stuff is actually one of my pet hates. Players who play evil characters in good parties, but in disguise! I find it a really lame and played-out plotline, and it's really stupid when it turns out everyone in the party was evil but hiding, from the start.

I prefer openly evil parties, if that's what the players want to play.

Drow are quite a fun issue in the DnD world.

The older generation hate them because the newer generation love them.

I think the best way to deal with the "Drow Issue" is to take away a lot of the mystique, remove the alignment barriers, create a more balanced alignment spread, and let them be accepted in "Standard" society.

Once Drow move from "Cool Looking Underground Outcasts" to "Common Dark Skinned Selfish Elves", I think the craze may die down.

Not true. As part of the 'older generation' I love drow. In their original role of vicious, manipulative, evil NPC/monsters. I just don't think they should be a playable race.

naner naner. :p
