[4e] IG's The Witchlight Strand [OOC]

Are you saying I do 1[W] + 3 or give any one ally +3 to his attack roll?

And why would they change it shouldn't your at will powers grow in strength as you do?

HM (who is already mad it would take 2 feats to give his cleric a heavy shield)

It gives one ally a +3 to his attack roll.

The power was changed to provide a flat +3 bonus to the ally, as once a PC got into Epic, the bonus was around +8-9 to hit, which essentially guaranteed a hit. The damage still scales, but +3 to hit is equally valuable at level 1 or level 21 as monster defenses should scale about equal to your bonuses.

Here's the quote from the errata "At higher level, this bonus almost guarantees a hit when used by a cleric build that uses Strength as its primary ability score. This change brings the bonus to attack rolls in line with expectations for at-will attack powers."

A couple more questions:

It looks like from the pdf that inspiring word only allows for one use and day and one use for that encounter even thought it is and Encounter(Special) power. So you can't use it once per day but twice during that encounter?

I think IG you were thinking I wanted the cruch questions answered when I was refering to world questions to help with my background. Have any ideals of where I should be or be headed?

And a comment: Why do Cleric's get Cure Light Wounds as a daily power and Warlord's get Aid the Injured as an encounter. It seems to me at that point a Warlord is a better healer than a Cleric. Will be swapping that in at 4th lvl.

IG - I believe that Vatan's wish list is posted in the Character sheet thread. I am thinking of bringing him into the Tempest path, so anything that would help along those line would be OK by me. ;)

Edit: how do you link to a post here in EN World, as opposed to a thread?

Ok working on rough background, was thinking of growing up near Tyrborg. Moving out when the priest hood called, villiage was attacked by major wolf packs yearly. So fending them off his a great honor. Mixing vikings and scotchmen but thining only Jarl's (priest) wear kilts. Didn't give him a pointy helm like his god wanted to "find" a special one. What else oh anything you can link that would be useful your wiki is a seriously big place.

The background sounds fine to me. The only possibly hitch I can see is actually traveling from Qashya Mal all the way to the Witchlight Strand.... and why? The area is not known for being overly hospitable, and deliberately traveling THROUGH the plaguelands to get there seems a bit suicidal. Perhaps if O'Beth has some sort of greater mission that brought him to the Strand, and, more precisely, to Hania?

Redrobes, Mid, and Korash can probably give you some insight on the world too, as they're all members of the CG as well.

There's also the "permalink" option next to the post number.

Thanks IG

Ok Redrobes (may I call you Rr, please call me HM) Mid and Korash. Any ideals why a hulking Scotish viking would be on a quest that would take him far from his home and family?

And what lands did he pass through on his way, could he go by boat? What does the lord of Battle have instore for or naive Jarl?

"Ak, what am I ta do wit out me mums haggis ta strength'n me?" O'Beth suddenly realizes. (please use the scotsman's voice from Samurai Jack)

Well met HM,

IG and two of us (at least) are from the Cartographers Guild and with the many mapping addicts there we all joined up and built a community world which is pretty big and detailed. The link to it is from the forums:
Cooperative Worldbuilding Project

At the top is a sub forum with a link to the wiki. Theres also a few sticky threads.
I make up the overview map of all peoples maps and you can find a latest pic of that here:
http://www.viewing.ltd.uk/Temp/CG/ThinkBig/Region/MappedTiles.png

and I run a script which strips out the places and forms an index here:
Index of: Cartographers Guild Cooperative World Build Project

Now we are in tile 25 in that index list called the "Witchlight Strand" and you can read all that is known about the place in the wiki.

As a Dwarf I have come from the hills to the North where there is a plague corssing the lands forcing people out of their homes and to safer areas so its likely that this fate has befallen you too. Thats up to you and IG to soft out tho.

Pervasive accent is Scottish isn't it !

Borrowing (ie shamelessly stealing) is a good practice.

Just wanted to tell IG that you should change the title of the thread if you are not recruiting anymore! Just my two cents; happy gaming.

Wow, I haven't been keeping up with the OOC thread often enough!

Cure Light Wounds is superior to Aid the Wounded because it does not require the recipient to spend a healing surge to gain the healing. In addition, it can be used to cure any creature, and not only allies.

Now, how does a cleric from Tyrborg wind up in the Strand? Well, the most direct way is the water route across the plaguelands. It requires navigating that huge swamp south of the Sea of Qashya, and making a couple of portages across the low mountains surrounding Tawaren. At some point, though, the Stoutwater is going to turn unnavigable. By that time, you might have started to encounter enough hillfolk and Stoutlings willing to help you across the Uzuids and on down to the Coriander Coast, where it should be easy to find a ship to Port Magalie and upriver.

And yes, the mage definitely does need protecting. I really thought I was going down again already!
