D&D 4E 4e Pennangalan?

My game is going to be dealing with vampires for an adventure or two so I thought dropping one of these bad girls in would be fun. There isn't an "official" pennangalan yet (but there was some art floating about around MM2's release), but has anyone whipped up a homebrewed version? Or perhaps there's a PDF out there with a good take on this monstrosity?

If I have to make one myself, what abilities did the pennangalan have in previous D&D incarnations? The wiki entry says that, according to various tales, they could ooze through cracks in walls and inflicted sores that refused to heal. I think a minor action entrail whip that deals ongoing damage would be a good facsimile. Give her a nasty bite and blood drain ability, perhaps a move action ability that grants phasing and insubstantial, make her an Elite Lurker and call it a day?

*edit* Actually, I'm starting to lean toward Solo. Slap on a "sickening vinegar stench" aura, vulnerability to radiant and light blades, resist to ranged attacks...

The creature first appeared in Fiend Folio. Lets see...

It was basically a female NPC during the day and could be any class or level, and doesn't have any of the normal characteristics of the undead, though it is of evil alignment.

At night the head and guts detach and operate as a 4 HD flying undead monster with 1 attack for 1d6 damage. Witnessing the head detaching is a save or die with success making the witness "only" feebleminded, lol.

The head has a save vs magic at -3 or be totally under the control of the creature effect. The victim takes 1 point of CON loss and 1d6 damage. Once bitten the victim will lose a hit point every day even if not visited again. etc.

The head also radiates a strong fear effect within line of sight and drips acidic blood which does 1d4 damage.

The head can be turned as a wraith and if exposed to sunlight falls paralyzed to the ground.

So, there you go. Several useful effects. Given how oddball the monster is I would suggest either using one of the MM humans as a base, make it Elite, add a template like Deathmaster or Shadowborn Stalker, or else just build it from scratch.

When in its undead form it would have a bite attack, clumsy fly 4, an acid blood spray attack, dominate, and a fear power. Exactly how strong you want to make all of this will depend on level.

It could be either an Elite or a Solo. It certainly could have a wide enough variety of powers to make a decent solo.

This sounds quite interesting, I have never heard of these before.

What level creature are you after?
How many PCs do you have in your group?
What level will your PCs be when they face it?
Is there anything specifically that the cerature needs to achieve?

Alright, here's my 8th lvl solo version of a pennangalan, which I named the pennaggolan to go with what I think is D&D's spelling for it - at least it is in the 3.0 OA book I found.

I already had a chance to run her in a game, lurking in a ruined three-story tower, and she was quite the challenge for my 6th lvl PCs. She even managed to escape using Paranormal Anatomy and lure them deeper into the bowels of the ruin.
