4e Races I'd love to see, but probably never will:

Marilith rangers with 6 scimitars (Drizzt x 3) & ambush vine shoots.

In all seriousness, I hope they make a ruleset for slightly stronger than normal races such as cambions and mind flayers.

Props to Wik for mentioning Grippli. I mean, come ON! GRIPPLI! I would also like to see pixies as a playable race.

I would like to see some design ideas for intelligent animals. Not furries... but actual quadrupeds who can talk/psionically or magically communicate.

Random aside: I would also like half-elves to be able to pick the Eladrin Soldier feat. And why aren't there more like it?

Grippli are cool. I don't think I would ever play one but the thought does make me smile.

I want githyanki, of course.

For intelligent animals, I could see having Trufflehunter the Badger in the party. That would be an interesting option.

This is something else one of our designers has been playing around with for CA, though it's only been in the works for about a week or so. While I can't recall any 4E planes having talking animals, Planescape had a little bit of that. Even the idea of having a party come across a bunch of furry woodland creatures a la South Park would be a crazy twist.

Aarakocra, because heck yes birdmen.

Word. Since they clipped the Kenkus' wings in 3E and made them scavanging rogues instead of lightning wielding coolness, true bridmen have been lacking.

Bring back Saurials, the only cool PC lizardous dracosaurs.

Giff for planar compaigns, the Arcane too.

Remember Dragonbait from Azure Bonds?
Who? I have no idea what you are talking about.

;)

I'd be repeating what a lot of people have said already, so I'll just list 'em

Aarakocra

Giff

Arcane - I don't mind if they are just monsters but they were a great race.

Saurial

KOBOLDS

Half-eladrin or some kind of fey-touched humans

Bariaur - These tauric goat men were NOT large so they could be the first foray into quadraped races.

I'd really like to see rules for large races.

Ahh...I loved the Shining Force Series... I miss my Sega, but at least the Wii let's me relive those classic games. I would love to see the truly cool drow from previous editions. None of this 4e everyone's a good guy and all drow are like Drizzt... the noble drow from 2e, resistant to magic, cool weapons, generally deadly to anyone who looked at them sideways...
